We went here about 2-3 weeks ago but I was hesitant to write a review. Frankly I have no idea where all the good reviews even came from because from the moment we sat down to the moment we left we were underwhelmed to say the least. We were seated, our waiter came over, he never introduced himself, asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered our drinks & proceeded to try & order our kids drinks(1 grape, 1 orange) however he interrupted us & said so 2 grapes. We corrected him. Then he came back, tossed all the drinks down & left, without giving us a chance to order appetizers which we were ready to order. He came back to the table a bit later & asked if we wanted to order something, we said yes, we ordered the Zucchini Ribbons & The Baked Goat Cheese dip. Because he was gone so long after the drinks we were ready to order our actual meals too, but again he immediately walked off as soon as we were done ordering the 2 apps. Random members of wait staff brought out our appetizers. Once the appetizers were mostly done he came to the table to take our orders, AGAIN he interrupted my partner while she was ordering, & got it wrong, so she again had to correct him. Our dinner was brought out, I got the Portabella bowl which was COMPLETELY smothered in very spicy Harrissa. The inside of the portbella was soggy because there were uncooked tomatoes in it. My partner got the Salmon bowl, her rice was mushy & unflavored. We were trying to eat it when a member of the kitchen staff (tall, blonde/light brown haired male in an apron) walked to our table & said “how’s the food”. We replied “it’s okay”. He audibly sighed & said “oh okay” and walked off, with a pissed look on his face. No questions about what our concerns were, nothing. We never saw our waiter again so I’m not sure if he got abducted by aliens or realized waitstaff wasn’t the job for him & left but we never saw him again. My partner & kids went to the bathroom, while they were gone. I was at the table alone, a female I’m assuming maybe in management or front of house staff was just standing near our table staring at me, she then said “you didn’t eat very much of your food” with an accusatory tone. I was shocked by the approach so I just said “oh sorry” she said, “was it not good? Did you not enjoy it?” I told her the issues with my dinner and she gave us a $10 credit. We still ended up paying $88 for our meal, which I have no issues paying for good food & service. But I expect good food & good service. Not an interrupting, man splaining waiter who seems to be put off by doing his job & then simply disappears. On top of confrontational staff in the kitchen & perhaps management coupled with completely subpar food. My recommendation is to not come here ever, unless you’re looking to waste money & be...
Read moreWent to have dinner with the family. Sat quickly, drinks brought promptly enough. Appetizer taken quickly as well. Food was brought quickly for our main courses. The actual dining experience was run of the mill. The food: appetizer ordered was the baked Brie which was very good. Definitely the highlight of our experience. Other dishes ordered were two flat breads, one cheese and one margherita w/ mushrooms, one korean fried chicken bowl and one patty melt. The overall impression we had of the main dishes we ordered is that they don’t use fresh ingredients rather they use pre-made frozen portions for example: the flat breads seemed to be made using previously made and frozen flat breads that were then topped appropriately and thrown in the oven. They weren’t terrible but they weren’t anything to rave about or even order again. The Korean fried chicken bowl which according to our waiter was the “most popular dish” seemed to be made using Sam’s club chicken nuggets that are air fried and then tossed in a sauce they make. The chicken was very dry and didn’t seem fresh again it was like something out of a frozen bag. The same could be said for the veggies served with the dish with the exception of the kimchi which was very tasty and imo the highlight of the dish. The patty melt was not served on rye but on sourdough which was fine but the main complaint regarding the patty melt was that again it seemed to use frozen premade ingredients this time around it was the hamburger patty itself which is unfortunate as that is the main component of a patty melt. The patty seemed boiled or defrosted in a microwave there were no discernible grill markings or char from a grill or griddle. The Korean chicken bowl was not eaten as the chicken was too dry to enjoy. When we told the waiter we didn’t enjoy the Korean chicken bowl we were not offered an alternative or for them to take it off the check. That is their prerogative but it took the mediocre experience and made it a sub par experience. We have been wanting to try this place for awhile due to the high reviews online but we left wondering if perhaps their standards had dropped since opening or what other diners experienced that we did not. Unfortunately Sixty Six acres didn’t make the cut to be added to our regular haunts and I imagine it will remain a one time visit that failed to hit the mark. Overall impression was that they are charging way too much money for using cheap premade ingredients that they are passing off as fresh...
Read moreWe have been there 4 times, the food is always delicious and inspiring. The food is the star of the show! The staff is another story....Management doesn't take complaints seriously and I think that's where the trouble begins. The fist time we were there, we were so impressed by the ambience and the food, we ignored the lack of personality and appearance our waiter had. The second time we went the waitress Erica was amazing and her concern for detail only enhanced the delicious food. The third time we went, we had the same disheveled waiter we had the first time. This time though every time he reached across the table to refill our friend's drink, you could smell him. (A very bad case of body odor.) Thankfully, he only had to refill her glass twice. But it distracted from the food. The 4th time we went, we had a waitress, she was very good. The food was impeccable as always! While we were there, the disheveled waiter mentioned earlier walked in to start his shift. He was still the same, looked like he rolled out of bed after being on a bender of sorts. His eyes had dark circles around them. He walked to the back and opened the employees closet. He pulled out a shirt and an apron and started his shift. I couldn't believe they allowed him on the floor. His royal blue underwear sticking out, which we had seen on the first visit. I can only assume he's related to the owners or someone in management. Or maybe this is the new norm! I don't want him to get fired, I just want him to take pride in his appearance and the establishment he represents! We go there for the food, we just haven't figured out a way to ask, can we have anybody but him wait on us? Like I said in the start of this long review, the FOOD is the STAR and...
