Please read before going to this restaurant. I know it’s long and I never write reviews like this, but I felt obligated to write this for the safety of others especially during this pandemic. When we entered this place, the first thing that caught my eye was a roach crawling next to their Tabala that was placed on top of the left wall of the entry. I wanted to walk out that moment, but since we entered and we were on a long drive we didn’t want to waste any time at another place. We had driven since 4am and was stopping for lunch here. So, we decided to sit on a table next to the window with curtains. We ordered beef biriyani and lam biriyani. As we waited for the food, I didn’t realize the roach had made its way to our table. I noticed movement and jumped out of my chair as I saw this roach crawling right in front of me next to my water glass. We moved to another table and waited for food half heartedly. I also noticed that when they serve water, they already put the straw in it. Especially with coronavirus and seeing this roach crawling around, I felt that was unsanitary. They should provide individually wrapped straws so customers can be sure it’s clean. When the food arrived, I was so disappointed because the biriyani was horrible. I’ve eaten so many biriyanis and also make these occasionally at home. Whatever they served cannot be called biriyani. It was basically rice and mixed veggies put in some beef curry and mixed around. The price was outrageous for the rice and beef/lamb mixture biriyani. It was the worst biriyani. Thought I’ll eat the salad they served with it and saw a piece of hair on the cucumber! I had the waitress take it back. The garlic naan we ordered was good. The tandoori chicken was okay. I will never eat at this place again. Taste of India if you need to keep in business, I hope you make some changes. Please learn to make biriyani and have a pesticide company spray the area to kill the roaches. Also provide individually wrapped straws to keep your...
Read moreThe one star is for the amazing service . The servers were friendly and very attentive . Unfortunately, that's where the good stops . Now, not everything was horrible, ordered vegetable samosas, two orders of butter chicken, and 3 garlic naans totaling a little over $50. And honestly, it felt like we just threw money away . The samosas were decent enough, not horrific , the rice was cooked well at least. And the dipping sauce for the appetizers was good . But the butter chicken was awful. I've been to countless Indian restaurants in Cali and Texas and I've never had worse butter chicken . I couldn't even eat half of it ! First, they charge an absurd price when they use cheap leg/dark meat for their butter chicken . Which results in a slimey bite , grit and just overall not a great experience . Don't even get me started and the laughable portions they serve while using the cheapest of ingredients . The sauce itself wasn't the best. The taste was very lackluster, and though I recognize they use yogurt in their sauce it tasted a bit on the cheesy side. The garlic Naan looked amazing, you can visually see the garlic bits . But the taste of it was sooo bland and boring. You couldn't taste any garlic or seasoning . It was well textured plain tortilla at best . We won't ever be going back and unfortunately we are out the money . Just to truly prove how much we disliked this place. My partner who always tries to give food the benefit of the doubt will continue eating, enjoys most foods , and loves his leftovers left the restaurant unhappy with trying to swallow down his dinner and dumping the large amount of leftovers we took because how bad the...
Read moreIf India was home to tasteless food, 'Taste of India' would be an extremely fitting name for the restaurant. Disgruntled waiter who I presumed to be the owner was not the nicest or most attentive. My group ordered: saag paneer, chicken biryani, butter chicken, and garlic naan. The garlic naan was good. The rest of the order, and I mean this in the most literal sense, had completely no taste. The saag had no flavor whatsoever, not even the slightest hint of spinach or greens. The butter chicken's only flavor was some strange sweet flavoring. It was not savory as it should have been. The chicken biryani was absolutely tasteless and the vegetables in it were undercooked. There was no taste to the rice however it looked decent. The basmati rice served with the entrees was so bland as well. The meat was only average and tough at that. The paneer did not have a taste either. I know for a fact that this was the restaurant's fault because the next morning we got fast food, which actually tasted like something, blowing this experience out of the water. That is a sad comparison. The odd thing is that this restaurant smells amazing when you walk in. Maybe it should be called...
