We arrived and found the waitress awaiting us at the door. She was extremely kind and attentive. The sushi chef was behind the bar and warmly greeted us as well. Very kind staff all around. We ordered the miso soup which was flavorful and enjoyable. We ordered the heart attack which had a unique flavor sweet but spicy and dripping in sauce. The Edamame was average but still tasty. The tuna salad was to die for!!! Thick tuna slabs with spicy tuna dressing mixed with a mixed green salad avocado and seaweed, definitely my favorite dish! We then had a 911 roll, balloon fiesta roll, and a spicy tuna roll. All fantastic with unique flavors. The balloon fiesta roll literally had fresh New Mexican green chile hanging out of it and was delicious! The 911 roll was mixed with a variety of flavors including green chile tempura. I’m excited to come again!!!

Had the vegetable tempura udon ($11+ not including tip). I have had this soup a couple of time both in the restaurant and takeaway. It’s pretty good either way and I am hopeful for this business to do well. UPDATE: I've been back several times for take-away and dine-in. This place is super clean and the food and service is great. Recommended! UPDATE 2: As of October 2024, Tomi now serves Thai food, along with their Japanese menu. Had the chicken skewers with peanut sauce, Pad Kee Mao and green curry. All were great and all are recommended. Owner and chef says that they will add more Thai items to the menu. So this ends up being another great NE Heights Asian option for both Thai and Japanese.

Update 05/14/24: had a craving for Teriyaki Salmon Bento Box, Tomi did not disappoint! See pic below! 02/09/2024: whoa! Tomi Sushi you’ve done it again! Ordered for takeout the chicken bento box sub spicy tofu and it came amongst other items the California roll sub avocado. The gyoza had pork or chicken which was fine for me…not a strict vegetarian and did not ask for different. My favorite dish so far! Healthy with a little bit of everything! I will continue to be a repeat customer! See pic. //Summer 2023:Best sushi I’ve ever had! First time customer. Ordered Set C salmon roll , green chile tempura roll, seaweed salad, and California roll combo sub avocado for krab. Delicious

I must have just caught them on a bad night or something, because the majority of the other reviews don't match my experience. This food was really disappointing! The baked mussels weren't cleaned properly. There were pieces of broken shell, and sand/grit or who knows what mixed in to them. I thought I chipped a tooth on one bite (but I didn't. Just felt like it). The sushi rice was completely bland. No flavor at all. The rolls were almost all rice, cut so thinly that they were about 1/4 inch thick, and rolled so loosely/sloppily you couldn't pick one up without it just completely disintegrating. They only included roughly 1/8 tsp of Wasabi, which isn't that big of a deal on its own, but on top of everything else, kind of put things over the edge for me. I ended up giving away over half the order, because it was just infuriating trying to eat it, and wasn't that good when I did. I'd be willing to try them again, because maybe I just hit them on a bad night; but it's definitely not on my list to do so anytime soon. Everything is so expensive these days, I don't feel like...

I wanted to try this place so I of course made a stop. I stood in the lobby a good 20 minutes before someone walked up.

Instead of asking, how many or giving me a chance to say " table for one " this lady then told me they wouldn't give me any food without a bag.

Of course I'm confused so I asked - what bag? They said "drivers need a bag before we'll give them any orders, and you don't have one "

I tried explaining to them - I don't have a bag, l'm just waiting for a table. They then told me - they were busy with "loyal customers" and walked away. Saying they were gonna " mark me down for being rude " ??? Whhaaattt ??? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Here's the problem. I'm not a delivery driver ☝🏼🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

But if that's how they talk to them I could imagine how the rest of their place of Business is. They were so rude to me and such dirty looks. I left immediately after that exchange.

IMO don't bother with this place.

They had one table seated while I was waiting, and the rest of the place was empty, if that's "very busy" it's not...

There was a single person doing hostess, waiter, and checkout. The place was decently busy for a sunday afternoon before church was let out. That person was on top of EVERYTHING. He was polite, soft spoken, and even bowed as I left. It didnt feel forced either. The food was decent, i ordered a shrimp tempora roll and an unagi roll. The shrimp and unagi were decently sized, i didnt feel like it got lost in the roll like it does at other places. The only thing that could be done a bit better was the actual rolling of the roll. It was a bit loose and a couple of the pieces fell apart making it difficult to eat. That by no means took away from the overall experience. The front of house really was amazing and more than made up for that small thing. Will def recommend in the future to friends and family. Good job everyone there! And thank you for a great...
