Subway — Restaurant in Alexander City

I had given this restaurant a five star rating because they're usually friendly, clean, and overall a good place to eat.

However. Yes, my opinion has changed. I was planning on eating a sandwich from there tonight for my dinner. I walked in, and waited on someone to come to the getting to build my sandwich. I asked the girl if it were possible to get a sample of their new pit smoked chicken, as I was interested in how it tasted prior to committing to purchasing am entire sandwich I may not like.

She looked at me and replied (now, get this), "I don't think so.".

Wow. She just stood there, like that was all there was to it. So, I said, "I guess I'll leave, then, since you obviously don't want to serve me." She said (sarcastically), "Bye, then."

No customer...

I went with a friend Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 around 1230. My friend ordered a footlong Chicken Bacon Ranch on Italian herb cheese bread, cost w/tax $8.85 and I had a Veggie Delight footlong, cost w/tax $6.49. There was a line but, moving along. The bread was very fresh, every ingredient on the sandwich artists work space was also fresh and plentiful. She listened carefully to what we wanted on the sandwiches, bread, additions and condiments. Everyone was helpful, friendly, wore hair coverings, masks and gloves. Our orders consisted of freshly baked bread, the right balance of meat, cheese, vegetables, condiments. In other words, a good, generous sub sandwich made to our specifications. Very rude young guy working. He’s always propped up and he acts like you are bothering him when you order. And the prices have shot up. 2 sub meals costs 37$. 37$ for bread and sandwich meat a drink and some cookies? If I hadn’t been in a rush I would’ve left. I think it’s family owned now and that’s cool but you have to hold everyone accountable even if it’s family. That kids got a rude awakening coming his way...
