El Paso Mexican Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Alexandria

I am in Alexandria for business about once a month. I went in for dinner last night was extremely disappointed. I sat down and received my chips and water. The server asked if I'd like to order anything to drink. I said yes, but I'd like to see a drink menu please. I went ahead and ordered my entree and he said he would bring me a drink menu. After he passed my table at least 5 times (5 minutes or more), I finally asked the neighboring table for their menu. He saw me looking at the menu and stopped back by and never acknowledged he never brought me the menu. I order a MEDIUM "Presidente Margarita" on the rocks. My food came out shortly thereafter and it was decent. As I was finishing my food, my drink finally arrived. I asked for my checks (alcohol & food) to be separated. He said that's fine and came back with one check...I asked him again to separate it. Upon receiving my bill, I see that the MEDIUM margarita I have ordered was $26.00!!!! I never write reviews...but this is ridiculous and warranted notifying others of this because the drink menus don't have prices and the staff won't inform you. When I asked him if this was the correct price, he responded "yea, you should see what the large cost...good thing you didn't order two of them." Needless to say, I will never be returning to this restaurant. The fact that the owners/management have not properly trained staff to make customers aware that their SINGLE DRINK will be twice as much as their food is just uncalled for. Before you make assumptions that I am that jerk customer to all wait staff, that is not the case. I am the first to give any and all the benefit of the doubt. This whole experience though...

Absolutely delicious! The warm chips, bean dip and just enough kick salsa are epic! Add any entree and your on your way to a full stomach and satisfied tastebuds. Fajita plate comes sizzling hot, fragrant with the meat and veg flavors teasing your sense of smell and all their plated meals are very colorful to the eye. The chimichanga is another of my choices,the guacamole on their plates is house made with a nice ratio of avocado and a generous portion on any entree I have ordered that comes with it.Most times that alone helps me decide what entree I'm getting bc I want THAT guacamole! The staff is super friendly very attentive and they do have drive up carry out.So nothing stopping from getting your Mexican menu favorites.Saddle your donkey or hop in your car and get ya some exceptional food and very reasonable prices and they do have a lunch menu too! June 2021 took hubby out 4 Fathers day, 4 got to take pics. He got the FRAJITAS Texacana...something like that,mix of shrimp,tender chicken, flavorful steak,he let me taste,was so good as was a side tamale he added. I got the ground beef chimichanga ,very flavorful well executed,fried just right covered in a lovely queso.Side rice well seasoned,creamy refried beans, with Pico and their AWESOME guac. The server Jes'us was stellar! Everything was so good we added another Chimi entree as a to go to take home to daughter,and Jes'us even set us up with 2,to go teas. EXCELLENT SERVICE and Food Ty! Our favorite Mexican...

I messaged them abt 230pm and made reservation for 10 people after my daughter's graduation. Told they would have table ready....well we arrived abt 845pm table was ready. Waiter took drink order brought basket of chips, salsa and dip. Returned few mins later with drinks, then after abt 20 mins he brought another 2 chip baskets as our 1st ones were empty as we had a table FULL eating off 2 baskets of chips! STILL had NOT returned to take our food order. We saw 2 other seperate tables tht arrived AFTER we did and were already being served their food @930pm! How can you knw OVER 6 HOURS AHEAD of time tht u are going to have large group coming in to celebrate at ONCE IN LIFETIME occasion....her High School Graduation with family from out of state AND NOT EVEN CARE, we never got drink refills or anything other thn chips and salsa for 1 hour and 15 mins we all were sitting there!! Yet you took 2 other tables orders AND served them their food withing 30 mins. By 1000pm, went to front to inform them we needed oh ticket ....as we SAT FOR 1 HOUR & 15 MINS ...NO FOOD ORDER TAKEN....NO DRINKS REFILLED.....NOTHING!! This was a DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE to say the least....as this was my daughter's voice of #1 restaurant she wanted to celebrate after her graduation! I even gave them 6 hour notice as I made reservation.....NO SERVICE, NO FOOD, NO REFILLS JUST...
