This morning I went to southerlands looking for a map gas torch to replace my broken one. They had them in the plumbing aisle and they were locked to the peg hooks I’m sure because it’s a high theft item. I spoke to the guy that worked there and asked why the one with the bottle of map gas was cheaper than the one without. He came and looked and said he was not sure but it was cheaper. I told him that I wanted the one that had the bottle with it. He unlocked it and carried it to customer service. When the man at the customer service desk scanned the item it came up as $54.99 and not the $39.99 that the tag they hung the product up on and locked it to. I told him the price was wrong and they checked the tag. They then informed me that it was below their cost and he would not give me the price that they had on the the shelf. They then tried to offer me another one at $44.99. Still not the $39.99. You can clearly see the price in the picture. I have worked customer service for over 20 years. If we put something in writing that is wrong, we take it down, take care of the customer and fix our mistake. The customer always being the most important. NORMALLY, I WOULD GIVE MY EXPERIENCE 4-5 STARS BUT THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, NOT GOOD. THERE IS AN ITEM IN THE WEEKLY ADS THAT KEEPS SHOWING UP IN EACH SALES AD AND IS NEVER IN THE STORE AND THAT IS 2-PC. PRUNING COMBO SET #3105 324345 FOR $5.99, WHICH I GOT A RAINCHECK FOR 2, AWESOME DEAL BUT EVERY TIME I GO TO THE SERVICE DESK AND ASK WHEN THIS ITEM WILL BE IN, I GET, WE HAVE 30 OF THESE ON THE TRUCK, AND WHEN I CHECK BACK, IT NEVER MAKES IT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE FIRST PART OF APRIL AND STILL NO SALE ITEM EVEN THOUGH IT IS ALWAYS IN THE WEEKLY ADD. SEEMS LIKE THIS WOULD BE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Went two days in a row. 1st visit. Employees hiding from you trying to not initiate conversation. Next day i visit. Theyre following you around the store. Watching you thru isles. To the point it pissed me off. I will NEVER spend a penny in this store. Ps. Both times i visited. First day your employee couldnt comprehend what a deck bolt might be. So i left and went to home depot. 2nd visit here, well i dont steal, so i dont like being stalked like i might. And maybe you should notice the telltale signs your employees smoke crack/meth.
