Swamp Daddys Crawfish — Restaurant in Alexandria

Atmosphere was ok, normal for Swamp Daddy’s. Our server was quick on taking our drink and food orders, however, it was quite a few minuets before bringing our drinks to us. Now, let’s get to what brings me to reviewing Swamp Daddy’s. One there where not many customers inside dinning at 4:00 in the afternoon and it took 30 minuets to get our crawfish and shrimp. Neither one was good, the crawfish was VERY HARD to peel and seemed to be over cooked or sat in a warmer for an extended period of time. They killed them by putting seasoning all over the outside of them and they were extremely salty. Now, the shrimp were ok, nothing to rave about, they peeled ok, but, they were rubbery. My wife and decided this evening the was our last trip to Swamp Daddy’s. $87.00 for crawfish like that was a disappointment. Great food, great staff, nice clean place to eat! Their boiled crawfish 🦞 are my favorite in town. A little pricey 💵 but well worth the money 💴. The staff are very friendly and helpful, even making suggestions when asked. They have a full menu of seafood favorites like shrimp 🦐, alligator 🐊, and fish 🐟. One of the best places around for seafood!! UPDATE! 3/23/23 Still the best seafood in town!! Just ate there and the crawfish 🦞 were good sized, the shrimp 🍤 and crab 🦀 were amazing too! All boiled and seasoned perfectly with potatoes 🥔 and corn 🌽 and their house sauce. Yummy!!! Have to go back while crawfish 🦞 are still in season! Best dinner in a while!!! 5/17/24 UPDATE: Back for more crawfish! They were big and seasoned perfectly. My son loved the snow crab legs and ate 4 lbs! We all finished every bite! Our waitress was really great and checked on us often, the place was very clean (especially for a place serving crawfish!) and the atmosphere was relaxed...

Food was great but I was very upset at the fact our waitress lied straight to our face. We were in town on travel got to the restaurant about 6:45pm on the 11th of January. My friend and I order 5lbs of crawfish and a seafood platter. After we order she brings our drinks at that time another gentleman walks in with im assuming family members, he says to the waitress he wants two 5lb craw fish platters, she said we are running out, he said give me three 5lb crawfidh platters. She goes to the back and then comes to our table and says we are out of crawfish would you like somthing else, so we order another dish. We recive our food then not 5 minutes later the same waitress brings out the 3 5lb crawfish platters to the other table who ordered after us.
