Smackin Mack's — Restaurant in Alexandria

Smackin Mack's-If we lived here this place would be worth the 90 minute drive OFTEN to go to!!!!

It’s on the end of a “plaza”, a little hole in the wall decorated with silly signs, limited seating, huge chalkboard menu. You order your food at the counter and they call your name when it’s ready.

We were greeted with a huge smile as soon as we walked in (Southern hospitality) You don’t get the shit in Ohio most of the time!

The food…..let’s put it this way, when the 2 moms (we had the grandsons) say it’s hard to get the boys to eat and all 3 boys got a cheeseburger and fries and all 3 ate every last bite but a few fries and one of them (7 yr old) says “I want to stop eating but I can’t” and they gave it a million 👍👍👍

The food was fabulous!! I say this about some places but this place was top notch- out of this world-I don’t even know how to describe it- I ordered hush puppies, she gave them to us and said “I’ll give them to you because yall are Yankees” 😂 (She had asked about the boys and told her we were babysitting and from Ohio)

The BEST freaking hush puppies I’ve ever had!!! I also had a fried green tomato BLT- who would have thought??? 😋😋 He had a Shrimp PoBoy...

I use to love Smackin Mack's when in was in Alexandria. Stopped here today for lunch and was very disappointed I was on break figured I'd drop by get lunch and head back to the office the wait was outrageous. I sat waiting for lunch almost forty minutes I was over my break. Then they ask for the ticket name 🙄. The prices have gone way up and the service sucks when ringing up my order she asked of I wanted tarter sauce I declined only received a fork and no ketchup. She offered me a meal that included oysters wanted a replacement I asked for fish she said oh no fish is to high and suggested shrimp instead. I wanted a slush I was told the machine was broke and had to go with a fountain drink.The lady didn't ask if I eat coleslaw she just added it to the plate in which I don't so that added on to my waste of money because I couldn't even finish my lunch bc I was over on my break. Although while waiting on my food I noticed the lady who took my order didn't miss her break. I would like to start off saying the food is excellent. That isn't the reason for the 1 star review. The reason for it is because I ordered The Smackdown. All over the web the listed price was either 41.99 or 44.99. When I went to pick the order up my total was 78.00. I was told that anyone can put anything on the web for the price, that their facebook page was the accurate price. So I went to it and it said 41.99. I called the next day to speak to the manager to see why the price was such a difference and was told that the accurate price was on the facebook page. I told him it wasn't 68.00 on the site. He looked it up and saw I was right but still didn't do anything to rectify the situation. I feel if there is an almost 30.00 difference they should correct their prices on at least Facebook which is a page run from...
