Alright, so I've been to this place about a good 5 times. Out of those 5 times I only ever really had about 2 times where it was only sub par. The fifth time I went there, they were somewhat on their a-game. The workers were doing their job and they did it with flare. Our server was decent but you could tell she was tired and was having a busy day. My mother ordered a sizzling burrito, my little brother had a shrimp platter and my other little brother had the seafood relleno. I didn't know exactly what to get so I got the seafood chimichanga. The sizzling burrito was perfect. The steak was nice and seared and it was big pieces too. The bell peppers and onions was perfect and the tortilla complimented the flavor. The seafood relleno was done nicely. The shrimp and crawfish matched each other perfectly and it was delicious. The sauce, though, was only decent. The shrimp platter was great, my goodness that shrimp WAS GOOD. Now, my seafood chimichanga came with the casual rice and beans which was actually good for the first time. When I took a bite, the seafood oozed into my mouth and it was not shy of flavor. The tortilla was good and the white queso was good too, but the whole dish wasn't great. I ate the whole thing, but it wasn't the greatest meal I've had there. Now here is the best part. That sizzling apple pie. This thing here will get ya. Oh my god it's so good. It's a small dessert supposed to be eaten by one person, but everyone at the table enjoyed a small portion of it. It was creamy and delectable, with the rock hard ice cream and the apple pie making sweet mushy love on your taste buds. The cinnamon added a nice undertone of sweetness and it made the soul feel good. The ice cream was hard, but only because once you have the apple pie and ice cream in your mouth they both collide to where it's just a nice creamy texture and a delicious taste. If you come here, get the dessert, any dessert, I'm pretty sure the other ones are...
Read moreThis place’ll probably be closed in a few years. Partner and I came in on SATURDAY night around 8:30. We weren’t promptly greeted and when we finally were, we were handed two menus and told to seat ourselves so we sat ourselves at a booth in the bar. The bartender is busy cleaning/closing down her bar, and two other employees were busy driving new screws into upside-down booths with impact drivers. We could barely hear our server over the impacts. The chips were cold and stale and were only given one small bowl of salsa. Were given/offered NO straws or silverware and have to get them ourselves from the host stand. The food, although prompt, didn’t inspire to say the least. There are so many other Mexican restaurants in this town that are beating this place in every way imaginable. Like I said at the start, they’ll be closed in a few years, or less,...
Read moreWow! Traveling from Baton Rouge to Shreveport. Stopped in for a late lunch at 1 pm. Hubby ordered Onion & Cheese Enchiladas with Chile Beef sauce. I got 1/2 Way Lite Tacos with steak & grilled veggies. Best enchiladas we’ve had in years! Plate comes with 3 enchiladas, rice & refried beans. Our server said can substitute a 4th enchilada in place of beans & rice. Will do next time. My wheat steak tacos were delicious. Grilled fresh zucchini, broccoli, carrots & yellow squash were perfect. Large house Margarita is Not from a powder mix. It was served with fresh lime wedges and also was delicious!! Our server, Hannah, has been there for 9 years. She knows EVERYTHING about each item on the menu. She told us about a Sombrero’s located in Walker, LA. Will definitely be...
