To start, I love hibachi and am always open to new restaurants. We are new to town and this place looked like what we are accustomed to. Worst and most expensive hibachi experience I’ve had. I had a steak and shrimp combo (not filet) with soda water. My wife had chicken with a Diet Coke. Our meal without tip was over $80. I knew it was going to be bad when the salad bowl came out half filled with what looked like thousand island dressing. The miso soup was watery and grainy without much flavor. When the chef brought the cart out the bottles he poured from were disgustingly dirty. This made me take a look around and it was a grimy place. The chefs knife was so dull the chicken was shredded. My wife’s chicken was really dry and my steak had a sour taste to it. I didn’t eat much of it. The shrimp was okay. The rice was really bad, like it didn’t have enough soy sauce and butter. The eggs and veggies were burnt. I think the grill was too hot, and he didn’t clean it as much between courses as other restaurants I’ve been to. When he did clean, he did a really poor job of it. I usually clean my plate, I ended up leaving half of it and so did my wife. Not to mention, they packed the table really tight; so we were shoulder to shoulder with the people next to us. I gave the service one star- the chef wasn’t personable and the staff would look at you and keep walking unless you addressed them. I had to wipe down my own seat before sitting and when they bussed the table, they left the trash. Overall, not a great experience for the price. And honestly, I’m concerned with the cleanliness of the place. We will...

I am a Soldier stationed out at Fort Belvoir, VA. Figured I wanted to do something different for the kids and take them to enjoy a Japanese Steak House in VA. We have been here 2 years and have not experienced one. We have been to the other duty locations out of state and was hoping for something of the same. I am sad to say that it was a very terrible experience. The energy was negative the moment we walked in. I guess the fact that we were a black Hispanic family didn't sit well with the staff. We were sat in a terrible hot location, had to wait longer than usual to be waited on and when we finally got the waitress to take our order she rushed us. Once we got the Chef to start cooking 27 dollar plates for a party of 6 the 2 kids barely got food. I asked the Chef to please give them more noodles because they did not eat the vegetables and he said no. My kids were still hungry after eating the little bit they served the. When the waitress was finally flagged down, because she did not come back to the table after our food was served, I explained to her how the kids hardly got any food and she did not care still charged us 27.00 per plate. It is incredible that our society still has such an ignorant mentally on race and social classes. It disgust me to think that I serve my country to protect people so rude and discourteous. It hurts me the most that my kids in 2015 have to...

Terrible service, but good food and our hibachi chef was great! We ate hibachi here as a large party, there were 18 of us. We had a whole section with 2 grills, but they cooked one side and then the same chef came back to cook the other side. We’re thinking it may have been bc there was only one chef available at the time, but if they had come and talked to us, we would’ve been okay with waiting until they could cook our food at the same time. Although it would have been nice to eat together, this isn’t why I’m giving 2 stars.

After they took our order and we got our drinks, I don’t think we saw our waiter again. We never got refills, we were never asked if we needed anything, and we weren’t asked if we wanted anything else. Another waitress came and gave us our bill, and when she came to grab the signed receipt, she really looked at it before walking away, idk if she was expecting us to tip more. My kids have been wanting to try fried ice cream, so I wanted to order one for them. I didn’t see our waiter, so I went up to the waitress that brought us our bill and asked if I could order fried ice cream. She rudely asked where I was sitting, and after I pointed to it, she again rudely said that the bill was already paid…do I want a separate bill? I was so close to just saying nvm, but it was for the kids. We enjoyed the food, but I don’t think we will be...

Ohhhh.....myyyyy.....goshhhh! This place is such a hidden gem I hate to give away the secret. I cannot believe how crazy delicious everything was here. We sat at the bar because we didn't want to wait an hour for a table. We had a good chat with the sushi chef. She was very sweet and she made me a remarkable Japanese Lasagna sushi roll. I think I was maybe a little too loud in my enjoyment when I took that first bite. She laughed at how much I enjoyed that sushi roll. I also ordered a plate of the filet mingnon and scallops. Again, knocked me out with how flavorful and tender the meal was. Especially with the amazing dipping sauces. Of course we also ordered a bottle of saki. I asked for a recommendation and the waitress brought me one based on the fact I like sweet. It was phenomenal. I cannot wait to return!

I love, love, love coming to this restaurant! The food is always delicious and I always seem to get the same chef everytime I go. Aside from the food, he (Walter, the Chef) would be the reason to go again and again. While preparing your meal in front of you, he is comedically engaging and he'll even play games with you at the table. I ordered the Hibachi Salmon with rice and it was divine! This location is open for dine-in as well as take out and they seem to follow strict COVID-19 rules with mask wearing, social distancing and sanitization. Sometimes people have a time trying to find the entrance. It is located on the rear lower level of 66 Canal Center Plaza, Alexandria, VA, facing the Potomac River.

The food isn’t bad but the portions? SLIM! Everyone at the table was NOT pleased because the food barely covered the plates. The chef also ran out of food on the grill so started giving skimpy proportions. When someone mentioned this an extra bowl of chicken was added to one guests plate but everyone has an issue. Our chef did no tricks- no flaming onion, no heartbeat, no sake shooting, no tossing of the food? Like what is the point? We came for the experience and literally got none. Really ended up packing up the food and going home because it felt like a waste. Server didn’t really care and chef clearly could care less. I would never ever go back to this one. Waste of a cute outfit!
