Veronica's Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Alexandria

Good evening: Normally I do not like to give business bad reviews. As a small business owner I like to give the business owner the opportunity to fix the issues.

I called the Mount Vernon location on 11/23/22 to order a Tres Leches to be picked up on 11/24/22 for a Thanksgiving gathering in Baltimore. The person on the phone told me they did not have any ready but will have some fresh one to pick up on 11/24/22. I stopped by there on 11/24/22 @ around 11:30 am. I paid 38.00 plus tax. I departed and took it to the gathering. Once there I took a slice and the tres leches was very very dry which they normally are not. I politely came back a couple days later to the same location. I told the associate of what transpired and asked her if the owner could call me. I understand people are busy but Veronica never called and still waiting on her call. I have higher expectations of someone that runs 2 locations and 1 warehouse.

Please ensure you get what you are asking for. Not necessary the best...

I really hope the owner reads this. This location is always a hit or miss. So dissatisfied and disappointed today! First my order was made way before my husband's so when our food came out just what my order was cold. Food was so greasy and overly salted that it was disgusting! This is one of the biggest reasons why I stopped coming here because one day you can come here and depending on who the cook is your food can be so good and the next time you can come here in the food is disgusting so there is no consistency! I'm really disappointed with this place altogether because I love Veronica's in Silver Spring Maryland but this location I've had more bad food than good. I really wish the owner would Riebes reviews and follow up with them so she can make her place a better...

I went on my break to pick up some food and headed back to work.

I noticed immediately that my food had a long brown hair in it. In my plantains to be specific. I then had to drive all the way back to have them remake my order. I understand that things may happen from time to time but I wasn’t offered any discount on my food in regards to the hair and the inconvenience it caused me. Additionally, I asked for a side of queso and she told me it would be an additional charge... like really. That was the cherry on top. Couldn’t even throw in the cheese. Please note that this was the smallest piece of cheese I have ever been given from a Hispanic restaurant.The Springfield location is better. Save yourself the aggravation and...
