This is such a strange place. I don't think I've ever had a normal customer-service experience at Sprinkles. Why are the prices missing? Where are the signs telling customers how much items cost? Having to ask the clerk verbally is ridiculous and unnecessary, plus workers can make up whatever price they want, based on the type of person who walks in the door.
The donuts here are deelish, to die for, but everything else is just plain weird. They're only open in the mornings, it seems like they hire oddball people, plus management is either lazy, negligent or both (illiterate to boot?) Why exactly do they keep their prices a secret? If their finances are so bad that they can't even afford ten bucks to post some proper sinage with PRICES (like any restaurant or retail store in America) then perhaps the owner of Sprinkles should take a college-course in financial management?
Today a surly employee wearing a baseball cap made mistake after mistake trying to ring me up. I clearly had 3 donuts in front of me (that he had just bagged himself!) but he only rung up 2, then shoved the 3rd one aside. Sorry but if your hired help is so petty that they're playing mind-games with customers, it's time to fire management and hire someone who actually cares. Plus the flavor cards were all scrweed up today (this was Sat 5/19/24) like the maple cinamon rolls said PB, the PB ones had a chocolate sign by them, the vanilla sign actually had chocolate donuts by it instead. Again, this is basic competency and customer service 101 here people. The folks working at Sprinkles just plain don't care. And it shows.
--original review Jan 2024-- My goodness these are FANTASTIC donuts! Wow. Best I've had in several years. Easily 10x better than Meijer or Family Fare (probably because they have twice the sugar content, but whatever). I tried the PB-frosted cinnamon bun & birds-nest varieties today, and they were ravishingly delicious. Deducting 1 star because of their missing prices. You go in and there's no signs or clues how much anything is. Zero. I don't know what kind of a restaurant/retail store can't afford to buy pricing signs for their merchandise, and make the customers guess instead....like it's some big secret that donuts cost $1.50 or whatever, but definitely very suspicious. What exactly is Sprinkles...
Read moreVery good donuts!! However, the first time I went I requested no cinnamon or nuts due to food allergies, otherwise whichever ones are popular we're fine. The shop was new and we wanted to try out a variety. Only to get home and have 2 chocolate and peanut butter frosted cinnamon rolls in the box, which was disappointing. Being new, we didn't want to rule them out completely. Have gotten donuts a few times since as well, and have bought them for company gifts. There was another instance that we again requested no nuts and one of the donuts had a nut cooked in the dough. Again mistakes happen. Very affordably priced donut shop, well decorated, make sure to get there early for the best selection.
UPDATE: after many years of avoiding due to health concerns being ignored, an order was placed for a business meeting as personal patronage is unsafe. Of the 5 ordered donuts, 4 were incorrect selections. The order was also presented in a bag with wrappers stuck to all of the frosting, once removed the wrapper peeled all frosting with it. Unfortunately it seems that the level of service provided has not improved after a multiple year hiatus of visiting this...
