We ordered to go one Sunday afternoon and were surprised at how quickly our order was ready. 20 minutes after ordering we arrived at the to go entrance in back of the restaurant and were immediately greeted by the wafting smell of baked bread. We were greeted by a server and paid and then out came our order… a few large pizzas, plates of spaghetti and meatballs, chicken fettuccini, and to round things out, and 3 salads. The pizza were piping hot and the toppings were piled high. Every bite was filled with deliciously fresh toppings and the cheese was generously streaming down the cut edges. The meatballs were the size of softballs and provided an excellent vessel for the heaping amount of sauce that smothered the perfectly al dente pasta. The fettuccini went the quickest, each seemingly endless strand of pasta. The salads were refreshing and a wonderful way to incorporate fresh textures into the meal. It had been so long since we visited and were thankful to have enjoyed such a wonderful meal on a Sunday afternoon. We look forward to...
Read moreVisiting LA but staying in Monterey park and kids wanted Costco pizza, but they sold out right as I got to the window, ugh! Online search had these guys at 4.5 stars, so I took a shot. Really risky in a strange place you're unfamiliar with... especially close to LA.
Found to be a small, nondescript location, that you would miss if not looking specifically for it.
$40 for a medium and individual sized pizza; pricey, but not too bad. Crust was pleasing, big and fluffy, while also crispy on the outside, unlike so many nowadays. Sauce was decent, not super flavorful, but ok. One of the kids complained that the toppings kept "slipping off" because of it. True, but I was not disappointed by that. It was satisfying and I was content overall.
They have sit down service at the front and pizza service at the back.
All in all, it was a good pizza, with excellent portion sizes! I would return again in the future, and I would save myself the 45 minute wait in Costco's...
Read moreBeing originally from the east coast and having eaten in hundreds of different italian restaurants in SoCal over the past 30 years I've obviously learned to adjust my expectations but once in awhile I come across a place that is so vile, so wrong that it makes me laugh out loud. Such was today when I ordered a stromboli from this Angelo's joint. Obviously they don't know what stromboli is because I think they're just winging it and created this monstrosity of burnt dry meatball pieces and under cooked peppers and onions inside a pie-like enclosure that must have weighed close to 4 pounds. If I was raising and feeding hogs they would have been in their lunch glory since this is not food fit for humans....nevertheless anything resembling a stromboli. Just google the word guys...stromboli...and see if your abomination is even close. Previously mama and papas disgusting pizza were holding the lowest italian food bar for me but you've taken the...
