I went to this location on Tuesday with my boyfriend to try out the food since it seemed like a really good place to eat Mexican food at. We were completely wrong. We ordered online, there was a 35 minute wait for our food, which we did not mind. When the 35 minutes came by, I went into the store. I was not greeted by anyone so I went up to the girl who seems to be helping people with online orders. I told her that I was there to pick up food and gave her my name. She just kept looking at me and then stared at my phone. I asked her if she needed the email for confirmation and with attitude she said yes. She then wrote down my name and told me to wait outside. I waiting for 10 minutes after the 35 minutes I was required to wait. I went inside and since she was not around, I waited for her to come back. Before talking to her, the client she was talking to said he had been waiting for an hour already. I asked her "how much longer until I receive my order" and she just stared at me and nodded and walked away. Meanwhile she went to help another client to look for his order, he mentioned that he was waiting for an hour and 30 minutes which seems ridiculous for the fact that it was a pick up order and people in the drive thru and walking into the store were getting their orders faster. When I got my order, the quesadilla I ordered was no even cooked throughly. The cheese was not melted at all and was still chunky, also full of grease. I also ordered the tacitos and the plate was a mess. It did not even seem like an effort was made to put it together. We also ordered a surf and turf bowl which was missing the carne asada. The ceviche was leaking which made the tostadas soggy. This was one of my worse customer experiences at your location and they should properly train their employees because our money is paying...
Read moreFirst of all, I love food here. i was a customer since it opened in 2017 after the donut shop went out of business here. The employees are friendly and work hard as they can to make the orders. The salsa Verde is amazing, fish taco is good, and meat taco, too. I haven't tried too much , so I'll leave the food at that. It's great, and on Tuesday and Thursday it's the same but at a great price! This part of the review is more for the owners and management. The issues I saw were lack of direction starting off with something as simple as the line to order, I waited in line facing the register and menu behind 2 customers, one ordering and one waiting to order then a lady walks in after me from the side under the menu and asks where's the line? One of the employees tells me and the guy in front of me that we're there before her that the line is behind the lady that just came in (wall side under menu). I'm on vacation and have no rush, so I just let it go. Secondly, I don't know how orders completion go out (numbers names and size of order), and honestly, I'm not going to spend time on that, but it seems a bit flawed. My last recommendation would be to add an online ordering window or something to help when you have lines out the door and Uber eats drives trying to get the food. I understand being busy on Taco Tuesday. You are going to experience longer wait times, but again, I feel like a little more direction might help tremendously. Almost 30 min wait on 5 fish tacos is a bit long, I will definitely come back, but since I do want Baja Cali to thrive and grow, I feel this would be...
Read moreI just had one of the worse experiences at this Baja Cali. I have been going to this place for more than a year with no complaints and loved the workers and the place. Tonight changed all that, I'm not sure what was up this lady's you know what but she was not friendly. I order 2 vegan Asada burritos in the drive thru. She stated our order to us for 2 vegan Asada burritos and gave us the order. When we got home the order was wrong it was two tacos. So I went back to the place to try and get the burritos, no problem humans make mistakes and I wasn't going to create a problem. Instead I was met at the register with attitude, this lady said I repeated the order and said Asada tacos, with a really annoyed tone. Even though me and everyone in our car heard her say burritos. I then repeated to her, but that's not the order, the receipt says the right order and you still proceeded to give us the wrong order. She just stared at me like it was my fault and never said anything. Why am I paying 30 dollars for this just to become furious at a worker who clearly can't keep her emotions in check? I walked out of there didnt say anything. I have been living in Alhambra for 2 years and have been frequenting this place with no problem. Baja Cali just lost my business for good. The food and the service was cold and dry. Since the cashier wants to give me attitude instead of admitting her fault, I will be taking my business elsewhere, you just lost a loyal customer. I don't need attitude when a guy is...
