Slowest restaurant in SGV: So this is was originally gonna be a one star review. I hadn't planned on coming but end up here, walked in and ordered 2 dishes - a pressed chicken and an ox tail soup. 20 minutes later and nothing happened. a little hungry I waited for another 5 min and had to ask the waiter/owner what the deal is. He got into this somewhat defensive rant about how this isn't a McDonald nor a Panda Express and his stuff are all cooked slowly, implied that I only know fast food, and how I should've checked out their social media to find out their minimum wait is 30-40 minutes. Taken aback a little by his attitude, and somewhat offended that I am expected to read up social media before heading into a place, I started this review fully intending on giving it a 1 star. But then the food arrived. It's 34 minute wait, but it was delicious. The chicken was very tender and full of flavor. The soup was well cooked and really nothing to complain about. So in the end, based on their food quality this place deserves a 5 star. But I need to dock at least a star for the slowness and rudeness. Yes your restaurant make everything slow and it tastes great, but there's no reason to assume everyone know about your process - a simple "Is this the first time you've been with us?" and "we cook everything halal and the wait time is a little long" BEFORE I ordered food could've smoothed things out considerably. Better yet, put that on your door. In short, this place tastes great, but is SUPER slow. Best option is to look up their menu, order ahead of time and come when the dishes are ready. The owner is a bit of a condescending blow hard (could be a language thing, who knows). Come in with the right expectations and you'll have a good time.

We've been by this place a few times and didn't realize there's an Indonesian restaurant right next door. The sign isn't that big outside, or it's not visible enough for people to see when driving. We tried a few different Indonesian dishes. Some were really good, and some weren't. Lamb satay is really good. It's super juicy and tender with sweet soy sauce and chili. The second best dish was mee goreng - it's like a fried egg noodles with vegetables and you can choose from chicken, beef, or shrimp. The third one is stinky bean with shrimp. It's really tasty with spicy sauce. The place is super clean, and the food is cooked right when you order it. We ordered Nasi kuning with some chicken and rendang, but the chicken wasn't that great. It just had a bit of crunchiness on top. Right now, they're giving out free lemonade and 15% off, and on weekends, they're giving out free sweet and sour soup. Overall, the place and the waitress are pretty good, but they do charge a fee for using a credit card. So, make sure you bring some cash with you to avoid that fee. I'd really appreciate it if they could let us know ahead of time if there is a card fee when using it. We'll definitely be back for different dishes next time.

We had such a satisfying meal at Wayang Restaurant Halal. Everything was flavorful, generously portioned, and clearly made with care. The nasi kuning komplit was beautifully presented, with fragrant turmeric rice and a mix of sides that balanced each other well, especially the egg and perkedel, which stood out. The sambal mercon absolutely lives up to its name: pedas, rich, and addicting. It woke up the palate without overpowering anything and paired perfectly with the rice. The satay kambing was tender and juicy, with a nice bit of char and a savory-sweet peanut sauce that brought everything together. The ayam nasi goreng felt like comfort food at its best, well-seasoned chicken and fried rice that had that nostalgic, homestyle flavor. We’ll definitely be back to try more, this spot brings the warmth and depth of Indonesian food in every bite!

Amazing food, Amazing service! Good price! I don't usually write reviews, but after eating here, I just had to. Very good Halal food options! The owners are so kind, and sweet. I was not sure what I wanted so the owner suggested I try 2 things from the "special Menu" that was on the board, and not in the regular menu. While the wait did take a long time, it was well worth the wait. It was during the covid pandemic, and we forgot our masks, and he brought us 2 masks and gave it to us while we waited. While we were waiting he also brought us little Jasmine tea juice bottles, which was so sweet. While the food was cooking, he brought us samples of the food, the spice flavors and It tasted sOOOO good! Finally when the food was ready, he showed us the food before boxing it. We went to a nearby park to have the food. It was delicious! We like food spicy, and this was really spice and tasted great! Please support the mom...
