The Wild Whisk Bakery is a newly opened shop near Fremont and Valley in Alhambra. Taking over another bakery, The Shredded Carrot, after it permanently closed, The Wild Whisk is run by a wife-husband duo.
I and another friend went during the second day of their grand opening, and I was surprised to see that the mango coconut cup and the chocolate chip cookie ran out. Hoping that this was a good sign, I looked to see what else caught my eye. At this point, we were greeted by the owner of the bakery, Tracy. She offered us free samples of their butter mochi and their Vietnamese coffee tres leches - both of which were good. I think the Vietnamese coffee tres leches was particularly stellar for its true to taste flavor and unique combination. In the future, I'll definitely order it for friends, but not for myself since I am not a fan of coffee.
Torn between the carrot cake and the strawberry cake, I opted for the carrot cake since that is harder to find and I could compare it to the previous bakery that it took over. For a carrot cake, I think they did well. The cake was moist and the presentation with a little carrot at the top was very cute, but the part that I didn't like was that the frosting was too sweet for my preference. After eating a few bites, I found myself reaching for water to help reset my palette and rinse the sugar in my mouth. I will admit this is one of the harder parts for a carrot cake since sweetness can be contentious depending on preference. For myself, it isn't super sweet to the point where I didn't enjoy it, but it was sweet to the point where I could only have 1/2 a slice. After that, it starts to become too much. If it wasn't as sweet or it had less frosting, it might be more enjoyable, but I understand this could just be my taste, too.
Overall, I'll visit again. The service was good and the unique offerings make The Wild Whisk stand out from its...
Read moreI was a longtime customer of The Shredded Carrot, so when I heard about the change to The Wild Whisk, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Change can be tough, especially when you’ve been loyal to a place for years. But after visiting, I can confidently say that this bakery is in excellent hands.
The staff at this new establishment have managed to maintain the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made The Shredded Carrot so special, while also bringing a fresh energy and an exciting selection of desserts. Everything is incredibly fresh, the cakes are rich and flavorful, and every bite tastes like it was made with care. One thing that truly sets them apart is how they make it a point to explain their ingredients and the thought behind each creation. It’s clear that they pour their heart and soul into their food, treating every item with the utmost care.
Even though The Wild Whisk is a new business, they have the right mentality—putting quality, passion, and customer experience at the forefront. It’s refreshing to see a team so dedicated to their craft and their community.
A special shoutout to Tracy, who is incredibly friendly and personable. She takes the time to chat with customers, making everyone feel like part of the family. Her passion for both baking and customer service shines through in every interaction.

We met Tracy on a bus in Zion — and let me just say, this wasn’t your average, run-of-the-mill “sit quietly and look out the window” kind of ride. No, this was the beginning of a culinary awakening. Tracy, the radiant snack sorceress behind Wild Whisk, blessed our group with her world famous Hawaiian trail mix bars, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that my life is now divided into two chapters: Before the Bar and After the Bar.
These bars didn’t just hit the spot. They drop-kicked the spot into another dimension. Imagine if a tropical luau, a unicorn, and a campfire had a delicious love child—that’s what this bar tastes like. One bite and suddenly I could hear ukulele music, smell ocean breezes, and feel emotionally healed from childhood trauma I forgot I even had.
Tracy herself is a legend. She doesn’t just make snacks—she channels them from the gods of flavor. She handed them out like a snack fairy on a mission, and I swear I saw a grown man weep into his trail mix bar. He said it reminded him of his grandmother’s hug, and I believed him.
Would I recommend Wild Whisk? Absolutely. If I had to cross a lava field, wrestle a wild boar, or cancel my Netflix subscription to get another one of those bars, I’d do it without blinking.
Tracy, thank you. Wild Whisk forever. Five stars isn’t enough — I’d give you...
