Asian Gourmet — Restaurant in Alice

It was hot in here like they didn't really have the a.c. on. The ceiling looked horrible. They have a "grill" but they didn't cook it in front of me. When they brought me my plate of food to the table it looked like they heated the noodles and just boiled the meat. Then threw sauce on it😟😟 the rest of the food was okay. At least most of it was fresh. The service was not very good. Had to flag down the waitress a few times to get refills. They weren't even busy they had maybe 4 tables to wait on including us. I don't believe I will be giving this place another chance. I'm sure when this place first opened they were great but now it just looks seriously run down. And like they just aren't doing so great. I only gave it 2 🌟 because they did have a variety of food and most of it was fresh and...

I've passed by this place a few times while working in Alice.

For a small town, the buffet had an excellent selection. Lots of items to choose from, flavor was good, price was fair, wait service was good.

I tried a bunch of items, favorites were the honey shrimp & the baked seafood, but I tried pepper steak, sesame chicken, bacon wrapped jalapenos, low mein noodles, green beans, pot stickers, wontons, egg drop soup, and several other items.

I had been hesitant to stop in the past because the outsides make it look closed. I asked a local about the Chinese buffet and they even commented. "ohh the place that looks closed?". Their only advice was to go at lunch and not dinner, as they said the food was consistently better at lunch.

I would definitely visit...

Tip for current or future waiters/waitresses..

Last night after enjoying dinner at a Chinese buffet here in Texas, while finishing up signing the check we (as well as another table) noticed our waitress SHAVING her arm at a little host stand. We thought she was writing on her arm with a pink marker. NOPE. The lady at the other table in shock mouthed to me "oh my god is she shaving her arm?" yep... And just then she brushed off the hairs onto the little floor like noooo big deal...

Needless to say, we will no longer be eating there.

So please don't shave your arms in front of guest or for that matter, don't shave your arms at all at work.
