First off we are visiting or driving through coming from Corpus Christi, so we are used to Whataburger and actually picked it over all the other places. Big mistake. For starters the dinning room was closed which is weird because back home they are open. So not quite sure why that was. Secondly the line was long but after getting to the speaker to order we saw that it was actually longer because they were parallel parking cars. So as we were ordering a train was coming through, not their fault however they could not hear us and we could not hear them. The girl on the speaker seemed new or did not know what she was doing because after we were told to pull up (not at the window on the lane they were parking other vehicals) we could not ask them to repeat the order because at the speaker the lady was confused and even after the train stopped she still got our order wrong. We asked the lady who walked to the car and asked for payment to repeat the order but of course she had no clue. She informs us she was doing something else, and then doing the fountain station and then they told her to come help on drive thru. She was very nice and sweet but all she knew was how much we had to pay. After paying she tells us with the request what we ordered. Kind of pointless now if you asked me, since we already paid for it. So needless to say after 25 minutes of all that waiting and misunderstanding we were so done we just got the food we did not order but paid for and left. Read moreNever will I set foot in this establishment again! At first appearance you see a clean dinning area (always a plus)so we order then seat to wait on our food. While waiting someone walks around with napkins and condiments so we get ourselves situated. Our order gets to our table it is divided amounts the group and a cockroach crawls out from the napkins across the table. We inform the person who brought out our order an his reply was I'll tell the manager. We swept the roach to the ground and killed it just to see another climbing the walk right next to us so we call the person at the register and told them I thing you all need to fumigate and pointed out the roach on the wall and the one on the ceiling over our table. She also said "Oh, I'll tell the manager" we were never approached by any management and by this time we really didn't wish to even eat. We picked up tossed the food and left with an upset stomach, hungry kids and $48 waisted. No one even bother to try an get rid of the roaches once we cleared the area, they were still crawling on the wall and ceiling as we were leaving. Read moreThis used to be the best Whataburger around, but the quality has dropped significantly in the last year or so. Today I picked up a Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger and opened it after leaving the parking lot. It was so greasy on one side that the bun had literally turned into wet mush. I do not mean that it was a little soggy or greasy, it was literally falling apart into a mushy mess. I ended up using some paper towels to dab up the grease and ate it with a fork after throwing the bun away.
I came by last month and had a Mushroom Swiss Burger and sadly it had the exact same problem.
I realize that this is fast food and it will be greasy, but if the bun cant even survive the 60 seconds it takes to pull out of the parking lot, then there is a problem. Customers should not need to order a burger with the bun on the side and a roll of paper towels to soak up the excess grease.
