Being North Indian I was hoping for some authentic Punjabi food. We decide to order one of the most popular dishes in Indian Cuisine, Butter Chicken. The very first spoon I found a hair. What a disappointment, trying not to vomit after seeing the hair, we tried a bite and the chicken wasn’t even chicken tikka it was like boiled chicken placed in some tomato sauce with spices. You couldn’t taste the heavy cream, butter, Kasori Methi, garam masala in the sauce. Sorry this was very disappointing. This is not butter chicken.
The Tandoori Roti, felt like it was made under a broiler rather than a Tandoor. Plain, no butter no coriander, in some places the roti seemed to be undercooked, not to mention it was very thick and not crispy like the roti that comes out of an actual clay tandoor.
Having lived in England, NYC, and several other US states, this didn’t live up to the mark or touch the spot. We ended up throwing what little food we ordered. I love to support our community, especially the North Indian community in the Plano, Frisco, Allan and McKinney area but I seem to be disappointed time and time again. Can someone please recommend a good North Indian Restaurant that won’t break the bank but is decent for a middle...
Read moreExcellent food, great taste—but when you have a family member like Yash fronting your business, you don’t need enemies to run it into the ground.
We visited Chandigarh Bites in Plano for dinner and were initially told there’d be a 20-minute wait. Fair enough, given the traffic. But 40 minutes later, we’re seated—three of us—at a cramped table for two, despite a larger table being available. When we politely requested a proper table to match our party size and order volume, we were met with visible frustration and reluctantly given a table that fit us.
Then came the real disappointment: three other parties arrived after us, placed similar orders, and were served well before us. Our food didn’t arrive until an hour after ordering. When we asked—again, politely—why others were prioritized, we were given a vague, unconvincing explanation.
The food? Truly excellent. But hospitality and fairness matter just as much. If this is how patrons are treated, it’s hard to imagine repeat business thriving. A good meal can’t make up for poor service and...
Read moreI treated my friends here for my birthday — and being Punjabi, I just had to try it! The place has a nice concept, but space is limited, so it can’t handle large crowds. We had to wait around 30 minutes for a table even though it was lunchtime, so definitely plan ahead — this isn’t a quick grab-and-eat spot, especially on weekends.
The service was quite slow, possibly due to limited staff or just a busy day. Ambience-wise, it’s fairly average, but the food presentation looked great and appetizing. Taste-wise, it was a mixed experience — most dishes were overly salty.
We really enjoyed the Amritsari Fish — flavorful and well-cooked. The Naans were soft and fresh, and the Lachha Paratha was okay, though I’d have loved more layers and flakiness. The Saag was decent, but the Mutton and even the Lassi were unfortunately too salty.
Overall, it’s a decent experience if you’re craving Punjabi flavors, but there’s definitely room for improvement in taste balance and...
