The Brass Tap - Allen — Restaurant in Allen

My husband and I love to come to Brass Tap every Thursday night for Singo Bingo and completely enjoy the food, the atmosphere and the service. On Thursday August 29, 2024 our family had a completely different experience. Our server is a new girl, Maddie, and she so lacked in service skills that I thought we were going to have to serve ourselves. She got upset that we needed a 4 top and the only one available still had 2 used glasses on it. We told her we would gladly wait for her to clean it but she took the 2 dirty glasses and slammed them down on the next table(unprofessional in my opinion) She wasn't very knowledgeable about the beer menu and when we said "Oh, Sam, our usual guy always has suggestions". Her reply....."Well obviously he's not here so I don't know what to say" HUH ??? It took a while actually for her to even come to our table to check on refills, how our food was, or to clean them after we ate. We did this ourself eventually. It wasn't an enjoyable time and my adult kids were kinda upset that she was like that. Again, we enjoy the atmosphere, the food is pretty tasty, but last night just really left us with...

I so wanted to like this place. Huge fan of tap rooms and the fact that they have a small wine and whisky selection is a huge plus. To be fair, the selection and quality of those items did not disappoint. Service was average at best. Wife and I sat at the bar and while it was busy there seemed to be adequate staff but they were generally inattentive. The food was, without exaggeration, the worst bar food I have ever eaten. I should have been leery whenever saw the people that left right before we sat down leave most of the food uneaten. I had the short rib biscuit with the mac and cheese and my wife had the caprese flatbread. Mine was all from packaged products. The biscuits were dry and over cooked and the short rib meat was dry and the bbq sauce ( asked for Alabama white and got sweet Ray's) was squeezed right from the bottle. There mac and cheese was some of the worst I have ever had. The flat bread had garlic powder dumped on it with sliced tomatoes. The garlic was so overwhelming that it was inedible, why not use fresh garlic? My wife would like to give them another chance but the outlook...

So my daughter who recently had her first baby, went into this establishment yesterday with a couple girlfriends to celebrate her birthday. Due to being a new mom she is on a very particular diet since she breast feeds as well. This was a first time out at all in 3 months. The ladies, if you can call them that that were bartending, decided not only was she an inconvenience, but that they would make fun of her diet to her face !!! In what world is this okay ? What business but especially in Texas would allow this. The phone number listed on Google is not a business phone and lists a completely different number on the voicemail than the number listed. I will be letting everyone know how this business chooses to let there staff treat PAYING CUSTOMERS!!! It is completely unacceptable! If you don't want to be treated poorly for giving your hard earned money for drinks or food, do not support this business. You should be ashamed of yourselves!
