We are grateful to Luce Law for taking on a pressing problem that had enmeshed us. They communicated regularly with updates as the situation grew into a civil lawsuit which we gladly filed under the advice of Luce Law. The lawsuit was of two parts. The first part involved sequestration of the object of the lawsuit, a truck, and this was a brilliant move by Luce Law early in the game. In a small way we actually participated in this and worked hard to find and provide a house address that was deliberately concealed by the defense. The most notable relief from this part was the lifting of the liability threat of defendant-caused truck accidents when we obtained possession of the truck from the defendant. This was huge.

The second part of the lawsuit was a drawn out process that lasted many more months. The strategy was complicated by a lawyer for the defense who worked pro bono, and it slowly became clear to us that the defendant had little incentive to mediate. This was apparently a rare situation that we felt we could have benefited from by proactive discussion with Luce Law.

The legal approach eventually worked and the lawsuit was settled. Overall we are happy with the result because Luce Law lifted a weight that lay heavily on our shoulders and led to an acceptable settlement.
