We enjoyed a late breakfast there today. It was very busy with a 35 minute wait. It seemed to go very quickly. Once seated, the service was quick and our coffee served immediately. It was hot, fresh and a mild breakfast blend with no bitterness. I drink good coffee black and it was good. Our food service was excellent and I only fall short of a five star rating over one issue...our food was cold. My husband and I both got the Everything Skillet with sausage gravy. Our Granddaughter had the Meat Lovers Omelette with a side of sausage gravy. The taste was excellent on everything. In fact, it would be considered one of my favorites except it was completely cold. As I continued to eat it I expected to find it at least warm in the middle but it wasn't. My husband and granddaughter said the same. Even the cup of sausage gravy was not warm. It was the strangest thing! I can only blame it on being left away from heat while waiting to be picked up to serve. Was there a draft from an opened door in the kitchen!? No idea. The flavor was fresh and excellent and on telling the food server our meals were cold she quickly removed mine from the bill. Not necessary but a nice jester since I ate it anyway. We will go back to try again since the flavor was on point and we enjoyed the coffee but still a let down since I look forward to a hot meal ( at least Luke warm). This is the only reason they get four star's.The meal would have been $51.00 had they not...
Read moreImpressive space. I was surprised by how large the inside was.
There was about a half an hour wait when I went with my family on an early afternoon Saturday. They have a cool system that tells you how many parties are ahead of you and an estimated time remaining. I thought that was a nice touch.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hostess wore a beautiful and easy smile and took care of my requests with not a hint of displeasure. Our server was great. They were definitely trained to take care of customers (we had two people take our drink order!). Drinks were kept full and the food came out quickly.
The food was just above edible in my opinion. I got an omelette with tater tots. The omelette was cooked in way too much butter and no seasoning. The tots were overcooked and hard. My oldest son also got an omelette but he said he loved it. My youngest son got eggs and toast and also loved them. My wife got the eggs and toast as well. She said the hash browns were under done and greasy.
They do have a buffet that looked yummy but we didn't get that.
Overall, this is a great place to try. It might become your...
Read moreThis is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. I've been here a handful of times now and never been let down by either the standard breakfast or ordering something I haven't had here before.
If you make it on a Friday or Saturday (I believe) morning, you might be able to get one of the limited-supply pigs in a blanket. If you can, do so. They're awesome. Plus, the meal that also includes a couple eggs and some toast won't set you back much at all.
For lunch, I've gotten their burger (my test food at most diners) and was surprised how good it was. The club sandwich was equally surprising. The burger was cooked perfectly and the toppings were just right without trying to cover for a bad burger like many places do.
This is a standard small town diner inside. There are waitresses running every which way, but they're nice and attentive and quick to refill your coffee. You'll see the 'regulars' the workers all know by name, but the staff treats everyone like they've been there for years. All in, if you're hungry in the area and looking for an early or midday meal, you cannot go wrong...
