This is a little bit of a mixed review because my server was amazing and polite, and kind, as were the other staff on the floor. The environment and the vibe are so warm and welcoming. It feels like you're going to a family's house for dinner with music and I had so much fun. This was my first time seeing belly dancing in person which they have every Saturday roughly around 7:30 p.m. And the belly dancer was like this beautiful, magical, fairy butterfly of a Barbie. And many people in the restaurant were up and dancing with her. The little kids were so freaking cute as they were Flying the scarves through the air with her. Watching their Joy was truly infectious in the most wonderful way. Then the server comes around to take our order through the music and fun chaos but when I attempted to order the complete meal for $44.95, it was explained to me that two people at the table needed to order it. Oh, ok, no problem, this other person at my table and I from our group will have the complete meal. I'm so sorry it's my first time lol I don't know the ropes yet. Then the server continues to explain that they would charge us individually $44.95 each person for it. So if you're going to charge me individually for a complete meal, why would I not be able to purchase that complete meal as an individual? Or why not advertise it for what it actually is? As a full dinner for two people for the price of $89.90 or $90. Eliminating the conversation and unnecessary questions. And then beneath all of that information, there's an additional share fee?? (Not mad just confused) I just wanted to eat good food and have a nice time, and did not want to go through any more mental acrobatics to figure out the complexity of the rules for the complete meal. So I got Ed's favorite. And that was absolutely delicious. From the Maza section, I got burak and the pie sampler. Then the evening dies down and I order baklava to go and a Turkish coffee to have at the restaurant after my meal. There was a birthday party occurring at this restaurant while we were there, and they had this huge sheet cake, but I guess they overestimated how much cake they would need. So then this awesome family decided, well, we're going to share our cake with the other patrons in the restaurant. Further fueling this feeling of a family gathering. It was overall a great experience, and the menu issue did not deter me from tipping...
Read moreI stumbled across Aladdin just browsing places to eat near me. Let me tell you I'm glad I did! I was tired of the same old Italian restaurant or steakhouse. I wanted something different and authentic! That is what you get coming here! It is a family owned and run business. Aladdin was absolutely amazing! As it being our first time there our waiter was super helpful and informative, and very friendly. Our waiter was Joe. He is a friend of the family so he isn't there all the time but comes by to help out when it gets busy. I would highly recommend him as your server. Joe was excellent at navigating us through the menu , and trying the must haves. There was 4 of us at the table. He recommended the deluxe dinner for 2 (but can be done for 3 or more). That was the best thing to get expecially since we wanted to try a bit of everything. The portions are plenty full it includes quite a few appetizers, a house salad, and a few different dinner pieces. Oh and on top of it all dessert and coffee! The baklava is to die for! The hummus and babaganoush was amazing, expecially with some homemade pita. My other appetizer favorite was arnabit!! The shish taouk as one of my main dishes was so good! Cooked to perfection !!,and very juicy. It was my birthday and they made it special by singing happy birthday and putting a candel on the baklava! The owners daughter Samantha came over to our table and chatted for awhile she is extremely friendly! She even asked for all of our names. I haven't had a server ever ask for names of people at the table and get to know us. Samantha was clearing tables and resetting for the next day as it was getting close to closing about ten minutes to 10:00. She took time to chat as I used to serve and know how it is to be on your feet all day and want to get out of there as fast as possible but she never once rushed us out or made us feel like we need to hurry up. Even our server Joe talked with us for quite some time and at this point it was about 10:30, and they have been closed for about a half hour and still he asked if we wanted more coffee or anything else! Which I thought was very nice. I will definitely be going back there again. Oh and one more thing on Saturday nights they have a belly dancer but you have to get there early around 7 to see her she is only there for an...
Read moreMy wife and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary by spending a few nights at the Glasbern Inn in Fogelsville, about 25 minutes away (well worth the drive). We searched online for a while before our trip to try and find a place to eat in the area that wasn't fast food or burgers (my wife is vegetarian). So many reviews pointed to Aladdin, and we're glad they did.
Upon arriving, we agreed with a few past reviewers; the restaurant isn't in the nicest-looking part of town (I can't comment on the actual niceness of things in the area, since we didn't have any experiences to write on). That being said, Aladdin certainly made up for the locale with their excellent food and quality service.
We were warmly greeted by Serena, who we later found out is one of the daughters of the owner. We were dining with our son of ten months, for whom she quickly brought over a high chair. After making some menu recommendations, we ordered a small feast and relaxed. As she poured our waters, Serena chatted with us about our baby and our visit to the area.
Then the food arrived. WOW. What a delicious spread! The falafel was the best we've ever had- moist, with a perfectly crispy outer crust. Not shockingly green inside like many other places. Deeply flavorful, not bland like many other places. Excellent.
My wife was head-over-heels about the stuffed grape leaves (of which I'm not a fan in general), and I thoroughly enjoyed my kofta kebobs.
Our son also enjoyed picking from our plates of hummus, babaganoush and fried cauliflower (arnabit) which were all excellent. We finished the meal with Turkish coffee (yum) and a complementary order of baklava that Serena brought over for us, her "new friends".
Overall, our visit to Aladdin was just wonderful, and we will certainly be back upon future visits...
