The owner was amazing!! So friendly and hospitable, very courteous and generous. He never let our water cups get empty. His wife cooks the food - it is "Indian food with a Nepal touch." And let me tell you - it is the best food my husband and I have ever put in our mouths! I wish we lived closer to this - I could literally eat it every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and never tire of it! My husband and I were out of town and found this restaurant, and I know where I will be eating if I am ever in the area again! We ordered the garlic naan, tandoori chicken (it was still sizzling on the cast iron surface when it was brought to our table!), butter chicken, and chicken biryani. I also had coconut ice cream for dessert (it had little bits of real coconut in it- so yummy!!). The owner also brought out some mint chutney for us to try, even though we didn't order it. It was a mixture of mint and oregano and some other spices, and it had a touch of heat to it, but not too much. I really liked it, so when he packed up our leftovers, he sent me home with an entire condiment to-go cup full of it, on the house! The spice level was also perfect on ALL of the food. It was spicy enough to be satisfying, but not so spicy as to hide the amazing flavors of the dishes. My husband also cannot tolerate too much spice, and he also said it was perfect! We really loved how invested the owner was in his business, too. My husband said it makes him happy to see people who are so excited about their business. He was really incredibly friendly and open. I want to learn how to cook like his wife. She must know some kind of magic! All in all, I really can't recommend this place enough. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! The owners, the food, the atmosphere - spot on! What are you waiting for? You've got to try this place out!!! And tell your friends and family! If anyone deserves to be successful and prosperous, it's them. Not only do they offer an incredible service, but they do it with heart and sincerity. It's like a...

I saw this place recently driving by and thought to try it sometime as I recently moved to Hamilton St a few blocks down. I called about 15mins before they closed for pickup and the owner obviously knew it was going to take him past their closing time, but he got my food order made with the door open past their closing time. I ordered the lamb madras made spicy with extra lamb & paneer. What a delicious curry! The lamb was extra tender and he indeed added extra. It was meaty dish. The spice level was perfect where definitely noticeable but my face wasn’t melting off. I got my gf the same spicy chicken korma with paneer added and, since we actually scout for which Indian restaurant in the area has the best korma, we were altogether impressed. Maybe it wasn’t “the best” in our opinion, but it was better than many. We actually cook real authentic korma curries at home using whole , chillis, nuts, and coconut milk we toast up, blend, and fry in ghee w/ onions, ginger, and garlic, so we certainly know a good korma. This place absolutely has it and since it’s only 2 blocks from where I live, I’m sure I’ll be a regular. Indian food is my favorite off the beaten path of regular food to eat. We will...

We had an amazing experience at Aroma of India today with a group of 19 people, and everything about the visit was absolutely wonderful. The guest service was excellent — every staff member, including the owner, was incredibly soft-spoken, sweet, and welcoming. Their kindness and the humble, heartfelt way they served the food made us feel truly valued. The food itself was exceptional in every way — the taste, aroma, and use of ingredients were perfectly balanced, showcasing authentic Indian flavors that were rich yet comforting. Despite the large group, they managed to serve all of us within just 20 minutes, which was truly impressive. The quantity of food was more than enough, the quality was top-tier, and all of it came at a very reasonable price. The entire experience felt warm, generous, and delicious — a rare combination these days. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food and...

A true hidden gem in downtown Allentown! This family-owned restaurant exceeded all expectations. The service was warm, attentive, and made me feel right at home. I was especially excited to try the chicken momo—and it did not disappoint! It tasted just like the authentic Momo I’ve had in Nepal. The tandoori chicken arrived sizzling and flavorful, and without a doubt, it’s the best I’ve had anywhere in the Lehigh Valley. We also ordered the lamb curry, which was rich, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. What stood out most was how fresh everything tasted—hearty, flavorful food that didn’t leave me feeling heavy. I’ll definitely be back soon and will be recommending this place to all my friends. It’s clear this family puts a lot of love into their food and service. Don’t miss out!

A fantastic dining experience at Aroma of India — the first Indian restaurant in downtown Allentown! We were warmly welcomed and served by the owner, Singh, whose hospitality truly elevated our visit. He took the time to explain the dishes in detail and made excellent recommendations. We ordered the vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, paneer makhani, and plain lassi, and were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary order of garlic naan—everything was full of rich, authentic flavor. The food came out quickly, was perfectly seasoned, and clearly prepared with care. Singh’s friendly and knowledgeable service made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a flavorful Indian meal with exceptional service, Aroma of India is a must-visit.
