My mother just went to the inside part of the store, because she had “special instructions” for her order. Those instructions were simply that she didn’t want egg and cheese on the bagel and JUST wanted the sausage.. simple enough right? WRONG. She asked for turkey sausage on a plain bagel, and when receiving the receipt took to notice it was a sausage egg and cheese bagel. Now she conveys she wasn’t necessarily specific but assumed it was clear she just wanted sausage on a plain bagel. Instead of complaining or causing a scene she simply walked up again explaining it was an allergy reason (not a lie). Now here’s where the issue lies, instead of being compensating and trying to resolve the issue they instead claimed she didn’t ask for what she did. If my mother had Alzheimer’s i could understand her forgetting what she ordered.. but since that’s not the case she simply said it’s an allergy reason so she couldn’t have the egg and cheese. My mom is very non confrontational so asking for a change was hard enough, but then another worker chimed in saying “oh don’t argue you know the customers always right”. Coming from someone who works in the customer service industry it’s appalling to say the least i would never speak about a customer rudely in front of them, and also JUST REPEAT THE ORDER😭 it’s common knowledge if you’re not 1000% sure (which in my opinion you can’t be without confirming at least once) that the order is correct you ask to confirm. All in all a situation that could’ve been avoided with some PROPER customer service and people skills generally speaking. But instead left my mom feeling embarrassed, disrespected and crying over the lack respect and service. Unless you wanna end up adding xanax to your coffee i wouldn’t recommend...
