We've been here three times. The cats are mostly permanent residents and are generally super friendly. There are lap cats, scaredy cats, cats that like being held, some that play, and cats just generally running amuk everywhere! There were a couple bunnies even, but they stayed hidden. It is much cheaper than other cat "cafes," but this is not a cafe. There are some snacks and drinks available for donation, but some snacks were expired....like WAY expired (over 1 year). It is a store front with a lot of cute, niche cat and dog items. The cats are in the back two rooms, and an outdoor area. The staff has always been super friendly and welcoming, with no pressure when time is up. Speaking of which, not only is it cheaper than other places, you get a lot more time for that cheaper cost. All that being said, I should give it 5 stars, but I debated even dropping it to 3. It smells. Like real bad. It is dirty, like real dirty. There is a lot to take care of here, and it's somewhat understandable, especially with an outdoor area that is freely accessible. But, I feel it could be better maintained. There is a bathroom to clean up, so thanks for that...but I can't help but feel dirty and greasy after leaving. The cats look well fed and taken care of, the litter boxes aren't overflowing or anything, but it'd be nice if they did a little more to keep it cleaner and reduce the smell. You get used to it, somewhat, but it is overpowering at first. I was on the fence about taking my kids back a third time because it's slightly gross, but nonetheless we went and all had...
Read moreMy family visited Mad Dogs and Crazy Cats cat cafe on a Saturday afternoon. Despite this, the cafe wasn’t busy and we were able to enter the cat room before our appointment. My family has visited many cat cafes, and this one was a bit different compared to the others. Most of the cats at this cafe are permanent cafe residents and are not available for adoption. The entrance of the cafe is actually a store with new and used/vintage items for sale. The cat room is in the back of the store, and there are a few snacks available for a donation. There was not actually coffee or espresso (that I recall seeing). And, despite the name, there are no dogs at the cafe! The cats were friendly and there were a couple super snuggly lap cats that would jump onto my lap whenever I sat down. The cats have 2 public rooms yo hang out with human visitors, as well as a few small places away from visitors if they need some alone time. There is also an enclosed outdoor play area for the cats! I’d recommend visiting MD&CC cat cafe if you’re...
Read moreI visited Mad Dogs & Crazy Cats on 8/14/25 with my family (two adults, two children) and unfortunately found the experience very disappointing compared to their older promotional video. The smell of ammonia and feces was extremely strong the moment we walked in, making it uncomfortable to breathe. Several cats had visible feces on their fur, litter areas were not clean, and the overall space felt poorly maintained.
The gift shop had snacks that appeared expired, and the environment didn’t feel sanitary enough to sit down, let alone to comfortably eat in. While I understand that animal care has costs, it was disheartening to pay $12 per person for an experience in such condition.
I truly hope improvements are made for the comfort and health of both the animals and visitors, as the concept itself has great potential if...
