We finally caved and drove TWO HOURS EACH WAY for this food cart. My husband was diagnosed with Celiac's in the past few years, and it's hard to get a safe chicken sandwich for him. I was suspicious of all the good reviews to begin with, but allergen conscious on top of it?

Yeah.

The reviews aren't lying. We made the trip a second time almost 3 months later, and it was exactly as good.

This is in the top 3 fried chicken sandwiches we've ever had, gluten free bun considered. Best we've had in Colorado. The chicken is crispy, juicy, flavorful. I get the one with hashbrowns, and it's a whole dream sandwich.

Everything comes out HOT. Tired of hour old rubber fries? We ordered a box to take home, and they were still audibly sizzling when he handed them to us. So, of course, after already sharing an order, we naturally ate half on the way to the car.

We, personally, love the sweet potatoes with Cajun seasoning and blue cheese to dip them in. But I know fries preference is a really personal thing.

The people working the food shack are SO friendly, helpful, sweet, and on top of things that it feels full-service even though it's just a food truck with outdoor seating.

And that outdoor seating is PRIME. The views in this area are gorgeous, and it's so refreshing to enjoy the open air and delicious food together.

The two things I regret are not being able to eat more chicken and fries in a day, and not finding out about this place sooner.

If you're able to go, do it! Enjoy it! It's a great excuse to enjoy a mountain drive, and the reward...

Otto’s Food Cart is the best food and view you will find in Park county. I love the chicken sandwich the best but have tried absolutely everything here. The food is fire 🔥🔥🔥!!! The owner sources locally as much as possible and is a part of Alma’s Recycling Program. Being environmentally conscience as a business in Alma is a must for me to support them. I will say prices have gone up, but that is to be expected in the mountains and really anywhere in the world right now. This delicious food is worth every penny though, finger lickin’ good! Seating is outdoors, perfect for the whole family including wheelchairs and dogs. There is a restroom too. In the warmer months there is an ice cream truck and a fresh produce stand. If you are taking out I suggest to call ahead but if you don’t you can always sit in your vehicle and they will give you a buzzer or a holler when the order is ready. Thanks for all the delicious food you have served me and will be serving me. This is a must stop at 2miles high if you are hungry and passing through. The only thing I wish they offered was a locals’ discount card for...

I have never finished a sandwich before my friend (on the left) today... I finished before him and I loved every bite. Better than any chicken sandwich I’ve had in Denver and probably the whole USA. Yes, it’s better than Chick-fil-A. Make the drive to Alma and taste for yourself. Go on a hike. See the wildlife. Go to Ottos food truck. See the kind, funny, cuties working there. Get. the. food. It’s excellent.

Sandwich on the right: Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich The chicken is extremely Juicy. The chickens breading was thin and crispy.... flavorful. So much flavor. The Serrano Slaw added just the right amount of crunch to the crispy chicken.

Basket behind the sandwiches: Sweet Potato Fries with light Cajun seasoning served with a side of Garlic & Herb Aioli and Carolina Sweet Mustard. Mhmmmm You have to have the sweet mustard with the sweet potato fries!...

Rode about 250 miles round trip yesterday to try Otto’s in Fairplay/Alma! It was pretty good and I’d definitely go back. Who serves up your favorite fried chicken Sammy in Colorado?! 🐥🥪
