I ordered 3 lunch entrees via UberEats. One of the entrees was missing, no problem.

We love Mambo’s food, so instead of going through Uber and leaving any negative feedback, I called into Mambo’s to see if they could rectify the situation.

The manager answered and stated that the cooks packed everything up and it was Uber’s fault. I asked him if he could comp us a meal for the inconvenience and he agreed. He told me to come in at 5 pm to pick up the meal that was missing, free of charge.

If he said no to comping the meal, I would not have faulted mambo’s in the slightest as they never messed our order up before, I just would’ve complained to Uber about the driver.

I arrive at Mambo’s at 5 pm, the owner (not Joe, but his brother I think), says he can’t do anything for me and that my entree isn’t ready and he won’t comp the meal. Which is fine, I can handle $15.

What isn’t fine is the Owner not acknowledging an employee at his establishment advised me to come and use my free time for absolutely no reason.

The owner also did not care that my recurring business would stop if he didn’t comp me for misleading me and wasting my time. We eat at Mambo’s A LOT, but we won’t be dining there any longer unless this situation is rectified.

One thing I can’t stand about restaurants and owners like what I experienced today is when a business doesn’t strive for excellent service for EACH customer. He was perfectly okay with me, a repeat customer, leaving his establishment dissatisfied.

If I could give 0 stars I would for these types...

We came here on a weekday and I was happy with their warm welcome. Here is the summary of my experience

Ambiance - 4/5: The ambiance is a stark difference between the bar and the seating area. While the bar looks chic and upscale, the restaurant area has been given a rustic vibe. I am not a fan of rustic places with open AC ducts but others might like it.

Service 4/5: The service was really good with the staff helping me understand all the dishes and being ready to modify them with a smile. They brought bread for us without us asking for it. But in general, the service was slow, we had to wait for some time even for the water to arrive - This happened when the restaurant was not so crowded

Food 4/5: The food was a mix of hits and misses:

Pollo Saltado: The pollo saltado was served with rice and had a tangy flavor which I really liked because it was close to an Indian flavor. The chicken was moist and the portion was large so I took it home and had another bite the next day

Chicken Empanadas: I had their famous empanadas but I didn't personally love them.

Value for Money 4/5: The place is not cheap with a majority of the dishes above $15-20 but the quantity is huge so you can take it home and have another bite most of the time.

In summary, I would definitely come to try a few more dishes and give it a try once more

PS: The green chutney with the bread is...

Long overdue UPDATE: Service and attitude amongst the staff has improved drastically. Hosea, is an awesome waiter. 11/30/23 ....................................................................... Dine regularly 3-4 times per month at this establishment . My wife is Peruvian. Mambos offers both authentic Peruvian and Cuban cuisine. However, some of the Peruvian dishes appear to have a little too much of a Cuban influence. For example the Papajuancacinna has a hot and spicy kick to it , which is not traditional Peruvian style. The Inca Cola is great, but they once served from a glass bottle , now it's cans 🤦. I highly recommend the Mambo's Mixed Grill and Lomo Saltado . Their Chorizo is absolutely wonderful. Some of the Hostesses need to put a smile on their face and be more cordial. All of their wait staff are NOT equal. There's this one waiter who is absolutely perfect each and every time, I have never seen him make a mistake, not once , not once. He remembers us each time we come and already knows exactly what to bring to get us started without even being told. I wish I could remember his name. Unfortunately, I guess we haven't been seated in his section the past few times. Some of the other wait staff appear to be " rookies" , and some of the females tend to be...

Look, things happen... of course finding a piece of metal from a scouring pad on your plate of rice and fried plantains is going to have you asking for the server to come look and to go have it replaced. Honestly, that is not the reason for the one star. We have eaten here many times and love the food! AND it takes us fifty minutes to drive to here! Here is what got me... the server took the plate to the servers station next to the kitchen window, showed it to another staff member, and they began laughing. Our server handed the plate back into the kitchen, still laughing with the other staff member who realized I was watching them. He turned his back to us, said something to our server who then glanced over at me and brought another plate. The first plate was done correctly with the rice packed firmly into the mold before being turned over on to the plate to form the presentation. The second plate wasn't done with a full mold or tightly packed. The server never apologized. No offer of even a discount, free coffee, or any other acknowledgement of what happened. In fact, he charged us for a sauce we asked for when the first we had been given was not full. I will attempt to contact a manager or owner tomorrow and see what happens.

We had a wonderful team lunch at Mambo’s Cafe in Alpharetta to bid farewell to a colleague. There were 10 of us, and we enjoyed our time out on their patio, which was perfect for relaxed conversations and great food. We tried a variety of dishes from their lunch specials—Pechuga De Pollo A La Plancha, Pechuga De Pollo en Salsa De Champiñones, and the Vegetarian Paella. All of them came with delicious yellow rice, sweet grilled plantains, and black beans. The Patatas Bravas and chips with guacamole were shared among the table and were perfect starters. We especially loved their green sauce, which packed a spicy kick and paired beautifully with everything we tried. Service was excellent—our server was attentive and friendly. They even brought out garlic bread while we waited, which was a thoughtful touch that kept everyone happy and not hangry! Overall, great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend Mambo’s for group gatherings and casual Latin cuisine!
