Taco Mac lately has been sort of hit or miss based on location. This location is the worst one around Alpharetta/John's Creek. I came in here for a late lunch (2pm) and ordered a chicken sandwhich. I'm the only person in the restaurant ordering food, so should be no issues, right? First sandwhich came out with mold on the top bun. Sent it back and they completely remade it. 2nd sandwhich comes out with mold on the bottom bun. Sent it back again... they send me out my side of tater tots to snack on while I'm waiting. I notice there's a hair in the honey mustard I'm dipping my tots in. 3rd sandwhich comes out and the manager says "don't worry, I tripled, double, checked it!". At this point I don't want it. So I finish my beer and go to close out. They only comped the food...
I've worked in the restaurant industry for years in various positions from a dishwasher to bar manager and everything in between. The first remake should have been the "triple, double checked". The fact that a 3rd make had to be sent out should have signaled the manager to make some sort of further compensation. I understand issues happen but multiple times in a row is completely on the kitchen. The manager wasn't even apologetic, he was joking around with the staff about it in front of me. But still never said a word directly to me. I have never seen a manager watch a customers food get screwed up multiple times without at least a face to face apology.
@Taco Mac corporate, if you read this you need to reevaluate this location heavily. I looked past the sticky floors and bad service before but moldy food is inexcusable. I've been a Tmac fan for years, ask your social media guy. (I fought for Haberbo BBQ to make a come back and was in your commercial for it) This location is struggling and I won't return to it.
Bartender was great, she was very apologetic and did everything she could to make it right. Didn't catch her name but she had red hair, if I came back it would only be to offer her a...
Read moreFor the first time, I was slightly disappointed in my experience at Taco Mac. The hostess was extremely rude, didn't greet us, didn't ask how many, grabbed 2 menus and walked off and we looked at each other wondering if we were supposed to follow. After still not saying a word to us yet, we're seated at a table in which we ask if it's possible to sit at the empty clean booth next to us and we were shortly told 'no, there's a leak at the table.' Menus were put on the table and she just walked off, still without having said anything other than we can't sit at the booth (in which she seated a couple at the booth a few minutes later). Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but clearly overwhelmed in her area. We ordered our drinks (that we ordered first), but my beer ended up coming out after our food showed up (one person said they were out of what I ordered, then another said they had it, then another said it was a line issue, another said they were changing the keg and I ultimately told them to get me a different beer). Our wings were hot and very good, but our fries showed up warm at best and seemed to be a child's size portion. We ordered carrots and got 5 full sticks and a couple small broken pieces. Overall, we were disappointed but know that this experience doesn't overshadow our previous experiences at Taco Mac, we just may not go back...
Read moreYesterday, Sunday, around 4:30 pm, I visited a Taco Mac in Alpharetta on Windward Pkwy with the intention of enjoying a meal while watching the Dallas vs. Green Bay game. Upon entering, I noticed that the entire main seating area had open tables available. Despite this, I was initially seated in a less desirable location in the middle, with high pedestrian traffic.
Since I was dining alone, I sought a seat on the side of the seating area, away from the constant movement. I politely asked the waiter if I could move to a different seat closer to the main TV and away from the traffic, and he agreed, allowing me to choose my preferred spot. Unfortunately, my positive experience was short-lived.
Less than a minute later, another employee approached me and requested that I move back to my original seat, treating my request as though it was inappropriate. Although I agreed to move, I felt mistreated and undervalued as a customer. Consequently, I made the decision to leave the restaurant.
This encounter left me with a sense of being unwelcome and ostracized. I can genuinely say that I have never experienced such poor treatment at a restaurant before, and as a result, I have decided not to patronize any Taco Mac restaurant in the future. The way I was treated made me feel like a less-than-valued customer, and I will not be returning...
