This was our every weekend place. I even recommended it to friends and people. Meaning I was becoming a regular. But I got this!!!! Burnt dried out liver and onions. Was last plate they had of this. Owners sister, our waitress was going to replace with a burger but by the time it was out. My date was done eating. I declined. So she wrote up for each side order 2.99 potatoes and 3.99 side salad wich was 1.99 add on so owner's Sister got her money but lost regular customers and friends we would of brought in and recommend here on out. And was happy to do so. This is how a family owned restaurant works. And is ok with bringing out food like this and charging a person as they get to watch their partner eating and then them gossip about you also. That was the topper!!!! I even asked her and explained I was from a family business, and this wasn't right. How I knew she was sister to the owner. When I asked to speak to them!! All good, but if you have a problem, you're the one that's no good.... and they don't care as long as they get that $$ at least the sister of the ownership!! Her final call, and you see it in...
Read moreTook my parents to get labs drawn in Alton. Then went to the Village Inn to eat. They are diabetic and needed to eat asap. WORST SERVICE EVER!! At every request we were told "We are very busy. You will have to wait." When I got up to get ketchup and syrup myself I was told " I will bring it". I said I'll just take it to table myself. I'm Tired of waiting. Again" we are busy" When I then said I'm tired of hearing how busy you are, I was told we could leave that they didn't need our business. I've never been told to leave a business before. Me and my two elderly parents were basically told to leave. We finished quickly and left. NO TIP of course. Even overheard the server apologize to another customer for having to put up with us "rude customers". That same lady approached outside and said she was sorry that he acted that way and that she and her table weren't even acknowledged for 10 mins when they 1st got there. Still...
Read moreStopped by Alton Village Inn Pancake House for the first time ever to have breakfast with my daughter. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, organization of the restaurant, and the clean welcoming dining environment. The restroom was immaculate too. Gigi was our waitress. My daughter and I ordered the waffle combo. The presentation of our meals was very appeasing to the eyes, and beyond pleasing to our tastebuds. The food looked and tasted absolutely delicious. Gigi did an awesome job taking care of us today and making our experience memorable. The restaurant swelled with patrons from the time we sat down to the time we finished our meals. This attest to the quality and quantity of service and food served. We will be coming back to Alton Village Inn Pancake House for another dine-in in the near future. I live in Belleville, IL, this morning's breakfast stop was well worth the...
