I usually love this place because it’s the most authentic place I can find in town, especially because I’m Hispanic. I always bring my family when they are visiting, but unfortunately I had a bad experience with the owner. He overcharged me and instead of apologizing or correcting the mistake he said there was nothing he can do. I will definitely not be returning. I would rather drive 20 minutes away than dealing with this! At end of the day I don’t care about the money it’s the principle of the matter.

Update: He is a liar we didn’t even leave the parking lot I opened up my order to make sure everything was there my kids and husband were in the car it didn’t even took me a minute to realize my order was wrong so no sir I was never dishonest u are just a liar why would I do something like that I I’m a customer that always comes and eats even ur staff knows me that’s how much we support ur restaurant , We ordered 3 carne asada tacos, 3 Alpastro tacos and a side of rice and beans and it came out to $31.16 but then u overcharged me $6 more which wasn’t right because she did charge me for the beans and rice and u said she didn’t how I said idc about the money at all but how I said u guys just lost a costumer and I will definitely be telling my friends and family to never got...

Ordered our food online for first time coming here and was left with no food, no refund, no real explanation other than putting blame on door dash yet, door dash was the only ones who even called us after being told by the restaurant there was no food order placed for us. Yet, I was charged, it was withdrawn from my account and NOT by door dash either. It was taken from our account by taqueria maya via bank statement. I called to get any information, refund, discounted service or the very least the food I paid 50 bucks for. Well, my gf and I was left not eating dinner that night. And left with absolutely no resolution, nor direction on where and what could be done to fix this & what they can do to ensure it don’t happen again to someone else buying delivery online and on THEIR WEBSITE!! Obviously, we won’t be going back and that’s a disappointment for us as we are huge Mexican food fans.

Came here a couple weeks ago, after our first experience I have to say food was really good, service was on point. I had to post this as the glitch with our first experience was something that could happen to...

I hate writing this because they have had the best Mexican food in the St. Louis area, BUT today was my 4th takeout order in a row that was missing at least 1 order of rice and beans. My $40 worth of food was very, very soggy and the ground beef was cooked in an off-putting sauce. The cashier was unhelpful and slow. We returned, frustrated, again for the missing side orders and waited 20 minutes. PLEASE, Taqueria Maya- you all could be the one of the best restaurants in the region, but your customer service is killing you. Missing items, soggy takeout, and rude cashiers can't just be looked over because the food is usually amazing. I've been a faithful customer since the opening, but your service hasn't improved. I just can't justify ordering again until I hear of improvement. I'll miss it, but the wasted time and frustration...

We had our son's engagement party here and it was a hit with our 35 family and friends. The food was fantastic and the margaritas were plentiful. We could have easily had another 10-15 guests with plenty of seating. They closed the restaurant for our party, which was so nice. We were able to come in and decorate an hour before the event. Cindy and Jocelyn were extremely helpful and friendly - even with a crowd wanting more margaritas. Lol. We ordered the premium package and kept a bar tab. Simple. Our son goes to school at the Dental School next door and he and his friends would do lunch at Taqueria Maya in year 1 and 2. It was a special place. So glad we had it. Check out our photos. The fireplace has existing hooks to hand a banner for making a perfect photo booth. Thank you. We will gladly recommend your business.

We discovered Taquiera Maya at the Alton Farmers market. The breakfast burritos were excellent, so we knew we had to try the full menu. This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area, hands down! Jocelyn was a fantastic server. Very attentive and friendly! The food did not come out "fast", but that makes me know that it's cooked fresh. So we didn't mind waiting, at all. The tacos had fresh chopped cilantro and the portions were huge! Plenty to take home and the prices were spot on. 😊 Oh! And the marg was extra tasty! Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!

I don’t Know if they made us pay for the chips and salsa but everyone keeps asking and I would sure hope not we didn’t ask for them they was just brought to us really we didn’t even get to look at the ticket we walked up there to pay but the Alton tacos are soggy no flavor the street tacos had absolutely no flavor at all we got the chorizo queso cheese bland it was horrible the only good thing they had was Pepsiļæ¼ Was really excited to try it but I rather stick with our usual Riviera Maya definitely not worth 40 dollars we didn’t even eat half of it!
