Eastern Express — Restaurant in Altoona

I have ordered from this place previously and know what to expect when ordering the food I had ordered. I ordered Shrimp lo me in tone spicy, beef and Chinese vegetables spicy,shrimp egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. Well Shrimp lo me in is entirely toooooo sweet no spicy, the Beef and Chinese vegetables consisted of celery and mushroom with beef, and shrimp egg rolls were almost burnt. Called to express my dissatisfaction all I got out was what was wrong and the lady whom answered phone took my order, she very rudely answered abruptly THATS THE WAY WE MAKE IT, if you don’t like it order from somewhere else and Hung up on me!!

Believe me that won’t be a problem. With all the problems with small businesses being hit hard with COVID, you order food from such places and this was the treatment given! So very very very disappointed hingry and now angered Save your money or order from some other place as you will be just throwing money...

Okay, so I love Chinese food as much as the next person. However, the experience I had at Eastern Express was absolutely horrible. The general tsos chicken was nasty. Big chunks of pepper skins, now again I like mine spicy but that sauce literally look like applesauce. It was clumpy and tasted horrible. My wife got the walnut chicken. It literally was so sweet she was crunching on pieces of what looked like sugar. The rice was mushy and bland. I tried to call and ask for a refund and I was told...well it's food and nobody wants your food, because I said I would bring the food back it was hardly touched. Egg rolls weren't touched nothing. And who puts carrots inside crab Rangoon! All around terrible terrible experience. I will never get food at this place as long as I live. Please people if you don't want to waste your money and get horrible food that I promise you won't enjoy then by all means...

I wanted to treat myself to lunch today after passing my learners permit exam so I decided to come to this take out restaurant, before I was going to order I needed to use the bathroom. The man in the front started pressuring me to order and I said I will come out and look after I use the bathroom, there was someone in there so I had to wait. The guy asks me again if I want to order and I said not yet I need to use the restroom badly. All of a sudden he comes up front and says he has an emergency and he has to leave, lock the doors and that I have to find somewhere else to use the bathroom. Not only did I not get to use the bathroom, I didn’t get to eat lunch either. I decided to go across the street to one stop shop to check out their prices, I come back outside and he’s back at the restaurant. I think he just devised a plan to get me to leave.. awful customer service in...
