My husband and I ate here for the Final time yesterday . First this is a buffet. Meaning, Cafeteria food. All you can eat of food that doesnt taste as good as a hospital. We went about 3:30 pm, meaning the Sr Buffet. Starting with the salad, there were bits of brown, YES BROWN lettuce mixed in so you had to pick around that. Then the salad dressing was just left in the plastic containers and when I picked up the bleu cheese, it was actually UPSIDE DOWN AND OPEN! Spilled on my new shirt and across the counter. The JARRED pickled beets were decent. One or two pickled pieces of onion in the entire pan! Next , I had the taco and tostados . Meat was bland. Pico de gallo was hot house bland tomatoes. Salso was basically just tomato sauce. The bottom of my taco shell ACTUALLY SPILLED! Meaning the shells were boxed and nasty. The refried beans on top of the tostados were CANNED AND BLAND WITH NO SALT EVEN! Then they sprinkled grated generic bagged cheese on top. ( If you want tacos, taco bell is better and cheaper. Then I had a fried chicken tender. Dry and bland. There was literally NOTHING ON MY ENTREE PLATE THAT TASTED WORTH EATING! Moving on to dessert. The banana pudding had No COOKIES IN IT! They had soggy ones around the side of the pan. I also got a slice of butterscotch pudding pie. BOTH PUDDINGS WERE CANNED AND HAD NO MILK WHATSOEVER IN THEM!
Read moreI normally enjoy my experiences there. I went around 3 o'clock and I guess it's a slow time for them, because not all of the food was replenished before it ran out. One specific item was the hamburgers. I get they are probably pretty popular. I had to ask when they were going to bring out more burgers. So I ended up waiting like 30 min for a burger. Now as soon as I asked if they were going to put more out, they did so within 5 minutes of me asking. Its just that I had to bring it to their attention. Also the super nice lady I asked told me she was the only one working in the back. I know everyone has slow times, I just find it hard to believe that at a Buffett you would only leave one person to watch the whole thing. I mean obviously they did do that I didn't see anyone else but the waitresses I just thought it was probably not a good idea. Now all of that being said I have bee n here 100's of times and usually everything is full, fresh and has plenty of variety. I have never been there between 2 and 5 so this just may be a time you want to avoid, and maybe my experience was a just a one time thing. But ill be avoiding this time frame myself...
Read moreI ate here 3 times at various time to give an accurate review of the place. The first time it was pretty crowded and after having a place to sit and eating through the first plate, it took around 10 minutes before receiving additional plates. The waitress told me she didn't even know I was sitting here. The food was fresh though since it was during a rush.
The second time i ate here, there was hardly any traffic coming through. I would say only 4 tables around me had customers. The service I got this time was noticeably worse. I had to constantly wait for refills and additional plates even though the waitress walked past my table plenty of times. 1 star service
The 3rd and probably last time I ate here since I am about to leave Altus was really great it was semi busy with a couple of large families here. My refills and new plates came very timely and I was asked many times if I needed anything. The food was the best I had at this place since the other two times.
Overall, this place is good to eat but I would plan on times just before or just after their heavy services times to get the best service from the...
