Inconsistent pricing, Buns Over Texas is better and cheaper, you go here for the atmosphere, food is secondary. Sometimes I go here because it's very close to my work, but they charge different prices even though I get the same thing every time - a burger, small fries and coke. Sometimes it's $9.61, other times the SAME THING costs $11.81. And I always go between 1 and 2 in the afternoon, so not sure what's up, but this is definitely not worth $11.81. For that exact same price I could get a BBQ basket from Dyer's, or for a dollar less I could get a better and bigger burger combo at Buns Over Texas, and the burgers taste better. The burger meat at Blue Sky has kind of a funny taste, not bad exactly, but by the end of the burger I've had about all of that taste I can stand and rarely finish the burger even though it's smaller than the burger I get at Buns Over Texas. I would say the burger quality is roughly equivalent to 5 Guys - not top shelf but not as bad as say, Braums.
So, looks like the management has responded and has decided that since I use a different name on facebook than on google then my complaint must be invalid - I guess they're really not worried about the service or how customers are treated, just looking for a reason to excuse the problem - well you got me! I have two different names! that means you're crappy service and food was actually good - congratulations! Since you decided to go that route, you can enjoy some more reviews on my lesser used websites that I will now...
Read moreTraveling from AZ to IL, we grabbed carry-out on our way to the hotel. Searched burger joints on app near hotel, Blue Sky had 4.6 rating and glowing reviews. Ordered inside, sign says burgers are pink, specify well done if desired. First cheeseburger, pink, mayo, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, onion. Second burger, well done, mayo, ketchup, lettuce tomato, large fries, large tater tots. Ten-minute wait, $32, take away to hotel, five-minute drive. Sat in hotel lobby immediately to eat before checking in. Both burgers beyond well-done and dry like hockey pucks, first burger no onion, second burger no lettuce or tomato. The large fries and large tater tots are enormous but saturated in oil and smelled like old oil. The burger was thin and wouldn't have been good even if not severely overcooked. A few fries or tater tots were all we could stomach. I called, spoke to the manager, he apologized and offered to credit our card, but I refused. Wanted to return to give them a chance to make the order correctly but it was after 8:30 and they close at 9pm. I would much rather have gone to Culver's, Burger King, Wendy's or even McD's (which I hate) over this place. Would give zero stars but one is the...
Read moreI've been to the Blue sky on Western st. three times and all three of those times take out orders the food was garbage. The first time i spent my $$$ there the $7.99 bacon cheese burger was mediocre overpriced, didn't come with fries or a drink. The fries I ordered separately were not fit for human consumption. I don't like to complain so I just decided not to come back. A couple of months later my mom wanted to eat there so I started to try it again... Bad idea my burger was raw in the middle of fries the same as they were the first time and I said I will never ever go back to this place. That was 4 years ago. Yesterday afternoon my mom wanted to eat at Blue sky because she loves the burgers, and after much protest I gave in and decided to or something other than a burger I had the all beef chili queso dog for $10.99... I decided not to get fries this time and had a chocolate shake instead which is the only good thing I can say about your restaurant. The chili cheese dog was the worst 've ever had in my life. Prison food tasted better. So now I for sure will never be back and I will never recommend it to anyone. Side note; I've at the location on Coulter once and it was...
