My mom and I love Olive Garden but tonight we got a lousy hostess. We asked for a booth. The older hostess sat us at the booth in the bar in front of the door that opens to the north. Letting the cold air blow on us and when I complained she told us we would like it and they were too busy to seat us anywhere else. How rude. She acted like our money wasn't worth her time to ask if we would like to wait for another booth. Then we got a waitress who was too busy to wait on us. She ask my mom what she wanted to drink. My mom said hot tea. The waitress asked what kind? My mom asked what they had. Waitress named about 5. My mom is 92 and couldn't hear her and asked her to repeat her list. The short bouncy blonde waitress said " We have the general teas. What kind do you want? " I spoke up and asked her to bring the box of teas so mother could pick. The waitress sighed and said which tea? Mom finally just said without knowing she liked green tea. The tea came mother fixed her tea and realized we had no sugar or sweetness on the table. Salad was brought out and waitress asked what else did we need. Mom asked for 'Sacherine, the pink sweetener. : we waited about 12 minutes and she bounced by and I flagged her down and asked where the sweetner was. She replied she hadn't been to the back. So mom's hot tea was cold and not sweet and all because the hostess and waitress didn't think our money was good enough for service Don't let the older gray headed hostess seat you. Don't let the bouncy blond in the bar wait on you. We saw the waitress wait on other people and not go to get the pink sweetner. Well I asked the waitress if I could speak to manager she said yes. Walked off. No manager. I asked Bar tender to call manager and then asked for the ticket for two drinks and a salad. He only charged me 3.09 for my 8 oz. coke Zero. The salad and tea were free. The manager didn't care enough to send an assistant or show up her self. The waiters at Olive Garden are usually very prompt with service and offer more bread or choices. So are the Hostesses but this evening we...
Read moreI decide years ago to stop eating at Olive Garden because it was overpriced and the service always stunk. Daughter wanted to go here for her birthday so we agreed we would. Tried getting on wait list online but if your party is over 6 you have to call. I called ahead to get on the wait list for a table for 8. The voice attendant said to press 2 for wait list and it would say not available and return to the beginning. So i pressed 3, was asked if I could hold and before I could answer was hung up on. I called back same immediately asked me if I could hold and placed me on hold before I could respond. Set on hold for 6 minutes as we drove to the restaurant. Finally talked to a live person who said there was not a wait so no need to be placed on list. We arrived and was told it would be a wait for a table for 8. All the time they kept seating multiple parties ahead of us. This is why I called ahead but they said no wait. After 35 minutes we finally got seated then we sat for 5 minutes before a waitress ever came by our table. Not even a hi I will be with you in a minute as she pasted by. Finally was able to order. Most was okay but the minestrone was bland and watered down. The spaghetti came out with barely any meat sauce on it about a third of what it needed. My wife had calamari and mushroom dish, she has never meet a mushroom dish she didn't like. But after one bite she said they were mushy and all she could taste was cornmeal. My daughter had the fried Lasagna and it was not good. We all tasted it and agreed that the grease used to fry it was old, which was also apparent with the Mozilla sticks. Paid $2.85 for tea and never received a refill on any of our drinks. Even when I held up my glass to get the waitress attention she walked on by.
Waitress was friendly enough but not very attentive, workers seem really unhappy. The older blond hostess was incredibly rude to us and the other hostesses.
Daughter did get a desert for her birthday but said next time we should just go to Fazolis they have better food.
ONE STAR IS ONLY BECAUSE HAVE TO PUT ONE....
Read moreWe stopped by this Olive Garden on an overnight pit stop in Amarillo on our way home from Colorado last Saturday evening. Ordered curbside takeout an hour in advance. We arrived at the designated time, pulled into a spot, and called to let them know we were there. The man who answered the phone said they’d be right out with our order. We sat there for 25 minutes watching them bring out other curbside orders and decided to give them another call to make sure everything was good with ours. Didn’t want to be impatient since It was Saturday evening dinner time. (We ordered 2 minestrone soups, an appetizer fried mozzarella, kids pasta and a cheese ravioli. Easy stuff.) the woman who answered the phone this time was much less friendly than the man I originally spoke to. I politely asked her if they had an ETA for our order after being put on hold for five minutes (it was now 30 minutes pst when we arrived).. she told me they were just waiting on breadsticks and it would be about five minutes. I voiced my concern about the order being cold and she said “it was fine, it's sitting under the lamps in the kitchen”. Sat there another 20-25minutes until our order finally arrived. Everything in the order was cold, including the breadsticks that we were “waiting on” minus the two soups that were boiling hot, so hot they had to sit 10 mins before we could eat them. Which was impossible anyway since they didn’t bring any silverware (even though I requested it when prompted online and it showed up on the receipt as a request). If we hadn’t already paid online we would never have stuck around. Worst experience ever! Contacted corporate asking for a refund, was told the manager would contact me directly and I never heard a thing. If you’re passing through on a road trip, definitely skip this place. ...
