Food and service is great but they have smoking âareaâ where the smoke smell just spreads all over the restaurant. We ask our waitress Tammy if that was okay and she had said yes, a fellow employee, Sarah, added in saying it was okay. I dont have an issue with smokers but it really should be done outside. Consistantly smelling and honestly TASTING a cigarette smell while trying to enjoy your food is horrid. Theres a letter before you enter but it still doesnt make sense. My mother has a heart condition and began to choke alot due to the smell traveling down her throat. Im unsure if it was directed to us but awhile after we asked if the smoking was aloud we heard a âaww am I in trouble now?â As if someone went and told the woman who was smoking, which was a manager, that someone asked about the smoking situation. They are all very cool with eachother at this location and seem to have eachothers backs. She said it in a tone as if she were getting smart. This would be a âeveryoneâ will be on the managers side situation since they are all so close. She clearly didnât care that the smoke effected a customers health. Weâve traveled from Maryland to California and are not heading back. Im just happy nothing escalated with my moms health because Waffle House most likely wouldâve been meeting us in court. Smoking should not be allowed inside because you never know what health conditions customers have. The smoke travels it doesnât stay in that âareaâ. We love Waffle House but not this location. Weâve never seen anyone smoke in a Waffle House until today. We could have walked out but the food was already coming and we just ate fast after that. Its not consideration, its common sense. You can easily smoke outside. Never going to the Waffle...

Went in and was surprised to find ash trays on the tables. Found an empty booth and also immediately found we were sandwiched between two booths of chain smokers. Noticed both servers also smoking (not behind counter) but while on customer side. There is a nonsmoking section, but because the place is small, doubt it matters much. I got a pecan waffle - not bad;, an order of bacon (came on a small plate and rather than being plucked from griddle with tongs, was scooped with large metal spatula to capture extra grease which pooled on plate - for dipping I suppose); and hash browns, which were under-cooked and swimming in grease.
Wanted to hurry up and eat, use the restroom and get on the road. Because restaurant was not tidy (I'm being kind) and smoke was consuming, decided to not venture into restroom for further disappointment. Couldn't wait to leave!
There is an IHOP next door... Totally regret decision to opt for Waffle House's quaint, intimate old-timey diner experience. I still smell like smoke posting this over 12 hours later!
I rarely, if ever, give an unsatisfactory review. Congrats Waffle House on your well-deserved...
Read moreWhen I walked in EVERY table was dirty, only 3 had customers. The cook was burning hash browns on the grill,(they may have been ordered that done, IDK) the one girl washing dishes said I could sit anywhere, I pointed out all tables were dirty, she again said I could sit anywhere so I asked for a wet towel to wash the table myself!! Another waitress walked by so she told her to wash the table, that one wondered around looking for a wet towel, finally!! She half wiped it and did not even attempt to wash the stuck jelly out of the seat!!!! So I asked her for the towel!! I then had to wait AGAIN for the first one to finally come over with a menu, I was fixing to leave!! I got one cup of coffee, never asked if I wanted more, my ticket and my sausage later!!! They forget most of my butter on my toast. My waitress was too busy making her breakfast so she and the cook went to the back where they let some guy in for them to chat!! This used to be a great place to eat, itâs dirty and it seems EVERYONE here today is lazy!!!! I will not return and will certainly let my friends and...
