KFC — Restaurant in Amarillo

What a disappointment! The first indication was when the little gals working in the joint were totally flustered. The guy that took the order was less than engaged and had to have the order repeated three times. It was pretty tricky, I must say . An 8 piece meal bucket with two sides and four rolls. Sides were sweet corn and mashed potatoes with gravy. The mashed potatoes were just sad. They were the consistency of Cream of Wheat. And just about as enticing. No seasoning whatsoever. It is incredible that you can make a potato taste like nothing. Of course…. There is a better than even chance no potato was harmed in making that side. Even with much salt and pepper, and added gravy, this would have had to reached far to even be bland. Then the sweet corn side. Had apparently seen better times… a few days ago. Perhaps it was being allowed to age like fine wine

Then we come to the chicken. Ahhh, the chicken.

It was unrecognizable. Behold a chicken breast. The edges were so hard and overdone, it was impossible to eat. The skin was a weird mix of rock hard and gelatinous. Love texture. We wouldn’t even give our pooches a small piece because of the hardness of much of the piece.

The signs on the door and the website indicated that this branch was going to open at 10:30AM. I made an online order to be picked up at 11AM but when I got to the restaurant, the doors were still locked. I peeked inside and the lady by the counter shook her head and did not even go near the door to talk to me and she left. After a few minutes, I tried going through the drive thru to see if maybe I can talk to somebody there but nobody came on the speaker to talk. I wanted to cancel my order but the online status said it was already "completed". I drove around again and parked my car, tried to open the door but it was still locked. I saw what I suspected to be my order on their pick up counter. Finally, the lady opened the door slightly and I told her about my order. She closed the door again, grabbed my order and handed it to me. I asked her if there was a reason why their doors were still locked since by this time it was already 11:30AM. She couldn't really give me a proper answer and just said sorry. She then locked the door again. It was such a frustrating experience. There were a couple other people waiting for them to open and cater to the drive...

The food is not the problem. It’s the customer service. We were traveling though on a road trip and my son threw up in the car, we went to use the bathroom so he could change. It was toward the end of the day and the young lady who worked there was in front of the bathroom doors. I told her we needed to use the bathrooms, and she said “I’m cleaning them right now.” I looked at my son, who is covered in vomit and told her “it’s an emergency, my son needs to change his clothes” she looked at me and just repeated herself, saying “I’m cleaning them”. She proceeds to go into one of the bathrooms. There was no cleaning cart in sight, I’m not sure what her deal was. But I cannot understand how someone can see a child who needs help and just not have any compassion on them. It would be one thing if it was his shirt. But his pants were soaked and he needed a private place to change. You can’t clean two bathrooms at once, and no one else was in the place. She was rude and unkind. I would never come here again after...
