The Açaí Bar — Restaurant in Amarillo

While waiting for my order today I randomly started thinking about the cost associated with running a small business. My tip brought up this thought and wanted to advocate for small local opened businesses. Don’t forget to tip places like these (extra) cause if you think about it, tips for them is more than a gesture of gratitude. I normally tip 25-35% just because I’m blessed but also I kinda understand the cost of running a small business. So if your ever confused on how much to tip, always go a few extra dollars higher then your first choice because with these types of places the portions your getting also are huge and I’d rather see a business thrive rather then just barely get by and so should you. I’m also a wheelchair user so I usually do curbside which means twice as much materials., These Açaí Bowls compare to ones you will get in Hawaii and that’s an experience on its own because most people will just throw them together but not here. Toast presentation and portions are generous also. Oatmeal is the best I’ve ever had as I grew up on plain instant. Another thing I’ve noticed the last week while frequently visiting this place and Bushland Coffee is they both seem to be women owned and they seem to hire mostly highschool girls which means your helping the owner empower young ladies to want work so that’s pretty cool also. Stopped by with my mom to get breakfast for myself - she decided after seeing the menu to get something as well instead of the eggs and bacon she originally wanted. We were both extremely happy with our bowls, and the smoothies that we got for our elderly family friend ended up being a nice surprise for her (she especially liked the orange dreamsicle type). She ended up asking that we pick up a few more tomorrow for her CNAs to freeze so she can enjoy them once we've left Amarillo. Terrible. Ordered a nutter butter SHAKE no blueberries extra banana got whatever this is. It pretty much all blueberries little banna and not a shake. When tried to bring it up to the lady she wanted to argue and ask me if I'm sure that I ordered what I want; when I said it twice and it still came out wrong. Watched them messed up 3 other orders and argue while there.
