Read moreThis restaurant is absolutely amazing! What an enjoyable culinary experience! The owner was personable and extremely friendly. He took the extra time to tell us about the food we were eating and give us some background on the cuisine and culture. His passion for what he does is evident! Our waitress was also very kind and professional. She was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and went above and beyond to do the little touches to make our experience wonderful (ex: pouring our wine for us, telling us her favorite items, and telling us the most popular items).
We had a group of 7 so we were able to taste a wide variety of the food on the menu. We are big foodies so we go to town! Everything was amazing and uniquely flavorful. If you enjoy trying new types of cuisine try this restaurant! The food is a little on the pricey side but appropriate for the quality and portion size that you get. It is also BYOB which is a plus! The conchas a la parmesana were tender and a fan favorite! We also got the papa a la huancaina and the pulpo al olivo which were flavorful and interesting combinations of flavors. The shrimp in the soup (chupe de camarones) were some of the most tender I have ever had! Everyone loved their entrees and the tenderloin was cooked to a perfect medium rare just as requested! All the desserts were also delicious and the suspiro limeno was probably one of the best desserts I have had in my life. They also offered a couple desserts off the menu including a chocolate lava cake with a homemade unique ice cream with a coffee flavor. We will definitely be back here for the exceptional food, atmosphere,...
Read moreMy wonderful wife surprised me with a reservation at Geronimo's for my birthday last night. Having not been here before, but very into the idea of the Peruvian cuisine, I was very excited and I cannot overstate how much my expectations were exceeded. From our wonderful, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable server to the food itself, it was just a perfect meal and experience. The food here is out of this world good - they start you off Canchita which is essentially Peruvian popcorn and the reverse of the popcorn you see every day which was fun and delicious. Then they bring out bread with this butter that's whipped with a Peruvian fruit, just delicious. I ordered the "cowboy steak" (18oz Ribeye essentially) on a bed of risotto - cooked to a perfect medium rare, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely massive. My wife ordered the Tacu Tacu which again, was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. For dessert we had lava cake topped with homemade Lucuma (a high-altitude rare Peruvian fruit) ice cream - the perfect end to a perfect meal. The server gave us some recommendations, checked in at the right times, and even gave us some history of the dishes we were eating. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and inviting, perfect for an intimate dinner or a nice meal with friends and/or family. Prices were very reasonable for the portions but even moreso for everything incredible everything tasted. If you've passed by or seen it while you're out and about in Ambler, or if you're looking to try something new and exciting and different but overall fantastic, give Geronimo's a visit. I will...
