Sweet Briar is our family’s most favorite restaurant! From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere… not to mention the delicious ice cream!! The Sweet Briar team always greets guests with a smiling face and treats everyone like family. They are as sweet as can be and always go above and beyond to ensure their guests leave happy and with a full stomach. Sunday breakfasts at Sweet Briar are part of our family’s weekly routine. It’s difficult to find a restaurant that pleases every member of our family, but Sweet Briar exceeds our expectations every time. My sister has a gluten allergy, and the team at Sweet Briar is always extremely accommodating to ensure her meal is prepped safely. In addition to their amazing in-house service, they also provide excellent Catering. They have catered events for our family over the past few years, from weddings to birthday parties to luncheons, and we have been thrilled with each experience. Sweet Briar owners, Kristen and Chad, always put so much hard work, patience, and love into our Catering requests, from coming up with a menu to match our party themes, to meeting with us multiple times leading up to the event, to handling all the details with care, to providing delicious food that guests rave about even after the event is over. Sweet Briar also offers an ice cream cart run by Matt (who is absolutely incredible and can memorize orders without fail every time!) that we rented for a work party, and it was a huge crowd pleaser. If you are looking for a delicious meal, a sweet treat, catering for your next event, or a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch & dinner, and has the best staff, we highly recommend Sweet Briar! We would give them 100 stars if that...

It was our first time here and I couldn't decide on breakfast or lunch. I got the breakfast burger (ham and a fried egg). Burger was perfectly medium rare throughout. Egg yolk was properly runny and I could spread it around. Ham is actual ham and not some lunch meat. Bun wasn't your typical flavorless burger bun - it had great flavor and texture.
Iced coffee turned out to be a can of cold brew with a cup of ice. Best cold brew I've had in a while (better than Starbucks or Dunkin for sure).
My girlfriend got the soup of the day, which was creamy ham, potato, and fennel. I tried some and it was great and tasted like homemade. Her eggs Benedict was spot on - lately it seems nobody can poach eggs and leave the yolk runny. These were just right and the rest was made well.
I even got a pancake to start and it was the only pancake I've eaten at a restaurant that I've liked in a decade. The pancake had just the right amount of chewiness - not that terrible crumbly thing that other places serve. Texture is important!
Finally, I got a milkshake to go. Cookies and cream with extra cookie topping. Just the right amount of everything.
Essentially, they don't try to make things overly fancy or gimmicky. They make nice food and they make it right. Better quality ingredients than a local diner and they know how to cook food to order. Nice ingredients cooked to perfection!
We're planning to come back for one of the tasting dinners. Brunch for sure again when we're in the area (we live about 30 minutes away and came...
Read moreFood was good, perfectly cooked. Ordered omelet plates. Had a home-cooked taste. Skimpy on the home fries. Good toast. People friendly. Service was ok. Didn't try the ice cream, but it looked amazing.
Two things bothered us. First, it's a diner/breakfast joint, and so before even looking at the menu, we ordered two cups of coffee to start. Came out quick, in standard tiny (very tiny) diner coffee cups. Never got offered a second cup, and it turned out to be $3 a cup - SIX DOLLARS FOR TWO TINY CUPS OF COFFEE. You can buy a tub of grounds for that cost. $1.50 for a diner-sized coffee mug with a couple refills is reasonable. Nothing says we don't want you to come back here like a stealthy $3 tiny cup of coffee. Bad on us for not checking the price, but like a good diner, the waitress asked about drinks when she brought the menus.
Second, found a hair in my omelet. I don't care about that stuff. Just pulled it out and kept eating. But most would find it gross. And there were at least six women all with long hair, which wasn't restrained or pulled back, in the service and cooking area. I get that people hate following food safety rules and wearing hats or nets - I worked in restaurants, including diners, for 20 years. But y'all gotta get all that long hair...
