From The Boot — Restaurant in Ambler

First time I came here w my girlfriend + her parents for graduation dinner, the service was terrible. Waited a half hour for drink orders, had to listen to this long, awkward, apologetic spiel from the server about how bad of a job she was doing that night (super weird!), however the food was amazing. Came back last night, just the two of us. The service was awful again + the food was horrible. Waited almost an hour + a half for entrees, had to ask three different times for dinner rolls. Servers (because we had two) were rude + inattentive. Asked our first server how her night was going when she brought our wine + she went into a tirade about having been there since 11AM + was supposed to be off, etc. Very clearly didn’t want to be there. Fair enough, but why make a two top who’s spending money feel alienated? We made reservations both times + both times were treated poorly. No manager touching down table side to make sure things are going well. Bud bussers trying to grab everything off the table like they’re closing (they didn’t close for another hour + a half). Truly horrible dining experience from beginning to end. Will not be coming back, definitely WOULD...

Myself and Sister friends had a 5:30pm reservation. Wanted to wait for all 4 arrivals and was seated immediately. First time there had in mind what to order. Started getting busy and we waited a little bit after our order before food arrived. Wedge salad pretty good, the stuffed mushrooms were a little salty for my taste the eggplant delicious . I alsi had placed an order with fried mozzarella which I was charged $12 for and never received. As well as my Sister not receiving her Wedge she ordered. Did not notice my mozzarella until late last night never received.My Sister spoke up they took off bill. I'm sure nothing can be done but I was really looking forward to that particular appetizer. Our First round of drinks Lemon drop with Campri vodka made to perfection! Second round not made well, asked our fill in waitress who was not courtney(she was very attentive and helpful with dinner ideas.) if it had the campri vodka was told it did, we stopped the manager to ask he apologized and remade with our choice and it was perfect again! Experience was good altogether except for those two dings which is why...

This was my first time dining at From the Boot and will likely be my last. I brought my grandmother, brother and sister for dinner and was super excited based on the reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite of the positive reviews. From the server barely acknowledging our presence to the underwhelming food, I can't fathom dining here again.

Full disclosure, they seemed a bit short staffed on a busy evening, and the manager ended up taking care of my table after several inquiries about the whereabouts of our server, who we later observed being quite attentive to her other tables. But as someone who spent many years in the restaurant industry and familiar with industry standards, the overall service was disappointing. We stuck it out for the food, which in the end lacked flavor. I took two bites, had the rest wrapped to go, and doctored it up once I got home.

Because I used to work in the business, I'm fairly easy to please. Minimal effort and mediocre food will get you a 20% tip. But, based on my experience tonight, this place is a...
