I stopped by on a Saturday night with friends. We noticed they have Happy Hour pricing starting at 9:00 p.m. so we lingered outside for a little bit and entered about 5 minutes till. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Asked if this was our first time at the restaurant (yes), recommendations were given and appreciated. We go to many sushi restaurants. We typically order the same basic items for comparison and one or two signature items in addition. For this visit our list included: Gyoza, Sake Nigiri, California, Las Vegas, Sunset, Kahi, and Baha. The gyoza was cooked, but not pan fried afterward. This isn't a condemnation simply an observation. People like dumplings in different ways. We didn't have a bad item in the bunch. Everything was fresh and tasty. The Vegas roll had a taste in the spicy mayo that we didn't recognize. It wasn't a bad taste, just a note. We loved the baha roll, probably the favorite. Our least liked roll was the Kahi, which is their signature. Texture was most of it, and competing elements that got lost in the mix was the rest. The restaurant was elegant and we all felt that they were trying to be upscale. A goal which we felt they achieved. The chairs were very comfortable. The place settings, glasses, napkins, even the chopsticks were all better than standard fast casual, more like a dining experience should be. Pricing was higher than most sushi spots we've visited. A glance at the menu and quick math put most rolls between $14 and $20. However, the Happy Hour pricing on select rolls gives 40% off, which we enjoyed. Overall, very solid choice for sushi and a very lovely experience. They deserve your patronage. We've seen restaurants struggle in that location and hope the very best...

Just finished eating at Kahi Sushi. For a place with such high reviews, we were astonished and extremely disappointed with our experience. Although the restaurant only had 2 other parties, service was extremely slow. After we ordered, the wait time was ridiculously long. Once our food arrived, only part of our food was brought; the sushi was not brought out for another 30 minutes, leaving one member of our party with NO food while the others had time to finish their food completely. During the entire time we were there, from the time we sat down, to ordering, and the long, long wait for appetizers and our main courses, there was NO ONE behind the bar where they prepare the sushi. It was only as we were getting close to finishing that someone finally showed up and started making the sushi. Even then, he was more interested in chatting to his buddies at the bar than getting our remaining food out to us. We ended up having to get the sushi boxed up to go (bear in mind one of our party had had NO food at all at), and that took another 10 minutes, which is beyond ridiculous. Overall, cannot recommend unless you like extremely long waits, staff the doesn’t care, and the group not being able to eat together due to a 30+ minute gap on food...

Delightfully surprised by Kahi Sushi. While all the people sit in line at the very overrated Sol Agave next door, you have Tsunami-quality new sushi spot waiting to be discovered. Came here with 9 people and tried a little bit of everything. Ended up getting 20 rolls. About half of these we did gluten free. Here’s the verdict:

#1 Best roll we ate: BBQ. I’m surprised to be even writing this. I think they should give it a new name like Surf-N-Turf, because calling it BBQ made me think it would taste like smoked meats or have BBQ sauce. But it was fabulous! Get it.

Best of the Rest: King Cobra (the torched salmon skin was perfectly crisped and flavorful), Sweet Jesus, and Baja. The nigiri was also excellent. Very fresh. Sake especially.

They offer several sweet rolls with a citrus glaze on it. None of us really liked those very much. Citrus yes…but all the honey/sugar no.

Met and talked to JK and Young, the cofounders, they were great. The only issue we faced was the delay getting our sushi. Took us about 45 mins after we ordered. But at the end they brought us delicious mochi for dessert for free as a makeup.

Bravo Kahi Sushi. Glad to...

Fantastic! SO excited to have a new sushi restaurant and not another franchise eatery. We ordered seaweed & squid salad (my husband likes it 1/2&1/2) and the flash-fried garlic spicy edamame was SO perfectly tasty, medium spice, and not excessively coated in a sauce. For the rolls- we chose Sweet Jesus, Baja, Honey Mango, & Sunkist. Just WOW- so fresh, delicious flavor combinations, and perfect balance of ingredients. Sauces were a hint of flavor but enough on plate for extra if you wanted - not drowning the rolls to cover up bad ingredients. I’ve never had a roll like the Honey Mango with coconut & macadamia nuts garnishing the top of the roll- Delicious and unexpectedly so good! For dessert- they offer a unique Crunch Bread Toast- not super heavy but reminiscent of funnel-cake/deep fried breads with ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream! What a delightful finish to the meal! The ambiance is modern, uncluttered, and low volume classical music in the background. Our server Ethan was so friendly and helpful with his suggestions! We will definitely return and support this new local business!
