Finally a good ramen in Utah County.
Being from Houston, its hard to find a lot of diverse decent restaurants in Utah County. Of course you take the extra “long” drive to Salt Lake City and eat to your belly’s desire but just located in American Fork is this hidden ramen house that deserves so much more attention than it’s been given lately.
The charsiu buns: I could just eat two orders of that and my heart would beat with glee because the flavors of the pork and glaze that melded together was just perfect harmony. Being a lover of onions, I may have added some julienne green onions to it like Peking duck bun to give it a crunch.
The ramen broth to both soups was comforting to our stomachs as we tasted it first before diving into the bowl itself. A perfect balance of salt and divine aroma fills your mouth with that first taste. It wasn’t overwhelming with noodles but just enough to where it would give you room for dessert later. The pork was soft and tender to bite down on.
The chicken tempura, I’d order it again as a midnight snack. The dipping aioli has a good kick to it but not enough to make you sweat a tear at all.
Overall, kudos to this restaurant because it seems that even though their menu is smaller than most Japanese restaurants in this area, you can tell that ramen is their specialty.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great...
Read moreFor a brief moment of my life, I disowned my love and affection for ramen. You may ask why. Well way back in my day when I was dating Jennifer Lopez, a fun habit was to try new foods. Unfortunately for J-Lo, I fell out of love and started dating Haku Ramen shop almost every Friday night. I feel bad but I don’t, but if I’m being honest, Jenny really couldn’t compete if she tried. For a time things really were stellar. Life was good and it really seemed like it couldn’t get any better. But then all of a sudden Jennifer Lopez started her own ramen chain restaurant. Hyeah. Petty right. It’s called “Honeymama J’s Soup Kitchen” Can you believe that Ramen isn’t even soup but whatever Now she had the same thing I had, but the difference she had a dish named “El Anillio” to call me out for canceling out engagement in 2005. She made an EP Album with the same name later in 2014 and that one is actually okay. I enjoyed that. Ngl Look, I know I’m hotter than Ben Aflac but Jules, get over it, Haku Ramen is just a nicer relationship and had more consistency overall Is that too much to ask? Because of that, I had to think….for the longest time I separated myself from HAKU ramen. Was this really what I wanted? Was this everything I dreamed of?
Yes it was. Yolo sorry...
Read moreThis is a small clean nice new ramen shop next to Target in America Fork. We got the Haku and Miso ramen. The Haku broth was phenomenal. It was such rich full broth and it had rice noodles that went well together. The Miso ramen broth was a little more of a fermented broth taste than I was used to but maybe it was their own bean paste that they made? Otherwise it was good with the nicely done chewy egg noodles. We even tried the appetizers, the tempura and the Chasu bun. Tempura was a bit oily cooked but I still enjoyed it. The Chasu bun was like a small sandwich with meat and lettuce. It was really tasty. The fat in the meat is melty and delicious in both the Chasu and the ramen, and I usually hate fat unless it's rendered out in the cooking process. The staff there was so kind and friendly and happy. They were eager to fill our drinks and made sure we were enjoying our meal, which we did. We definitely will visit often! They have been open only for about a month only. I noticed as I was driving out that they had a sidewalk sign, it was a bit lacking. I would suggest a fresher clean sleek sign instead to match the interior...
