The hotel recommended it. The reviews were pretty good. The menu looked great. But the entire experience from start to finish left A LOT to be desired. I called to get takeout (since I had work to do) and that is where the disappointment started. The guy that answered the phone must be training or something. He did not know the menu at all. He had a lady nearby helping him understand the questions I asked. I was asking for a dish that showed up on the menu on their website, but it turned out that menu was outdated. They no longer have a seared yellow fin tuna. So I ordered the seared scallops. The guy recommended the steak dish, on special (for $15) but I opted to get a salad with the steak instead. The food: I paid $60 for the meal (take out) and there is no way I got that much in quality. The scallops were more fried than seared and were served in a mountain of oil. The rest of the dish was okay. As for the salad, the steak caesar costs $25! I have gladly paid that much for a great steak salad, such as at the Marriott LAX near the Los Angeles Airport. This was a total rip-off comparatively. The cheese was not nicely-shaved cheese (as it is presented in premium salads. But the biggest disappointment was the steak. They just served me a terrible batch. It was so “grainy”, I had a difficult time cutting the steak even with a knife. It was just impossible to chew. Out of the 5 or 6 cubes I received, only one was tender enough to enjoy. Again, if this had been a $15 salad, sure, just chew harder. But at premium prices, I expected much more....

Ok, my family, my oldest sister my daughter and my granddaughter and I were in Amesbury to go apple picking. After an amazing day we were famished, so we drove around looking for dinner, before our 2 hour ride home. We happened to come upon CRAVE, at 10 Water ST. Amesbury, MA, and we are so Blessed we did. We walked and were immediately welcomed by the owner Sean Toomey. He expressed if ther was anything we need let him know. Then we were seated by a gracious waitress, she offered us a wine list and asked if we would like drinks first? She was pleasant when we were toying over the menu and explained that this was a scratch kitchen so if there was something we didn't want or wanted to add it would be fine. We explained it was our first time in Amesbury and loved the Apple orchard and would be back. She said that the food was amazing and explained the various dishes to us. We all settled on the meals and my granddaughter who is very picky ordered the pasta with Alfredo, she loved it so much. My sister and I ordered the OUTSTANDING FISH TACO'S, and my daughter order the YUMMY PENNE CAPRESE. ALL OF OUR MEALS WERE SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! The waitress was so friendly and shared some tips for events at Salisbury beach for us to make it back up to Amesbury and come back to CRAVE! I will be craving this place until we meet again! ...

Had a server named tori who was honestly the worst server ive ever had in a restaurant. i AM NOT a typical writer of these but my experience had to be shared. After placing my and my girlfriends orders the food arrived at a slow pace at best which to our surprise was the total wrong food. We explained this to this server tori who then argued that no this is indeed what we had ordered ( WHICH WE HAD ABSOLUTELY NOT). So after a second try the food came out wrong again. We recieved more of the same smugness as the server tori implied it was our mistake yet again. When we asked for manegment they were totally unaware of the situation at all and as someone who works in the food industry kmows is a firable offense. My overall experience was lack luster AT BEST and to top all of it off ( the zero discount or credit we recieved for being so hassled wasnt the ice topper actually) this server tori spilled ranch dressing at my girlfriends feet and replied "dont worry its ok, they clean the floor at night"

Glad to see this is acceptable in some establishments. Theyve inspired me to open a restaurant that offers nothing but terrible service, and outrageously ove r priced crappy food. Thanks for the inspiration Crave!!!!!

I think your name must be Crave because everyone craves a real...

Great spot in a great area. We actually pregamed across the street at the brewery but that is for another review. Service was excellent! Four of us. We started with drinks...good cocktail menu and decent wine list. Mussels and fried tomatoes. The mussel broth was honestly one of the best I've tasted. If fact, we had to request extra bread for dipping. Little kick with a sweet finish...really good. Had a wedge as well...pretty typical, nice size with solid blue cheese dressing. Meals included fra diavolo, cod, new york, and t-bone. Zero issues. Great flavors. Throw in a crème brûlée to close it out. Great service, great food...great time.
