Read moreA very cute food hall with many options for many people. Fantastic for groups. Can accommodate folks with all sorts of tastes and preferences.
However, it was very hard to find parking, we ended up using valet for $7. Thankful that was an option after looking for about 20 minutes beforehand. There is a small lot that was full and some street parking but be aware there are many parking restrictions in the neighborhood.
Once inside, it is beautiful and vibrant. It can feel a little overwhelming getting your bearings and there was nothing that made it clear what to do or where to go. Some stalls have their own seating for if you order from their restaurant, the communal seating seems scarce. We had a group of 5 and had a very hard time finding anywhere to sit and eat. We ended up at BXCR for cocktails and sat at a small table on the outside of it. Everyone went in pairs to grab food and bring it back and while we were thankful for the spot, it was definitely not enough space for everyone to eat at the same time, but I am sure this was not intended to be a communal table space for 5 to eat at, so no fault of BXCR. They were so nice! Some restaurant stalls had explicit postings for no food or drink from other stalls within the food hall. So even if 1 person wanted something from another stall and another ate there, we couldn’t all sit together. Which was a bummer and felt counterintuitive to the overall communal vibe.
BXCR had great cocktails! Highly recommend! The sushi stall I ordered from messed up my order but I made due. Ice cream from Han’s was delicious!
Another thing to note is bathrooms felt scarce. Once we found them, they were not super clean. Bring hand sanitizer!
Overall we had a great time, despite the parking for both our vehicle and our butts. We would come back in the future but maybe mind the time and...
Read moreI feel that an agreed upon opinion of this place is that it's thought of as the OG food hall here in Southern California. Not sure if this is technically the first one, but it's the known/popular one before these food halls starting popping up everywhere (Steelcraft, 4th St Market, The Hangar, etc.)
I can't say that anything I've had food or drink wise from the different vendors here is the best I've ever had. But on the other side it's never been the worse.
One good win here is they have a nice amount of different vendors serving up diverse options which. I've had some good creamy ice cream here, cold refreshing beer, tasty indian food, fresh fried chicken sandwiches, etc. & All those have usually been pretty decent.
The aesthetic & two story layout of this place makes it pleasing to the eye & fun to explore, even if the place really isn't that big.
If you're showing someone around the OC for this first time this is a good place to checkout because of all the different options available to you in a central location.
If you've trying to figure out a place to grab few drinks & food & everyone has a different palate this place could serve your needs.
If you've got a date all the different options could make it fun while you'll also find some cute photo ops here as well.
They have a parking lot here that is not so big so it tends to fill up especially on a busy weekend. Often enough I've parked just a few blocks off in the residential area & took the short walk.
Protip:
If you've had your fill here but still feel like having a beer, be sure to checkh out Unsung Brewery literally right across the street. Keep the as adventure going & enjoy a good beer while checking out their...
