It was my first time in the Anaheim Packing house and I was being guided by a local friend of mine. She really recommended The Kroft, so I decided to stop by and try the food and drinks.
I ordered a wagyu smash burger, the Braised Beef Poutine fries, and a mango cart.
The Wagyu Smash burger was terrible and reminiscent of a McDonalds burger, had little to no flavor and was extremely disappointed that the cheese of choice was KRAFT cheese….. seriously. The cheese was an absolute joke and ruined the burger.
The Braised Beef fries were good, but definitely lacking in cheese curds. I had about 5-6 pieces of cheese curds and was disappointed. I didn’t particularly like how soggy the fries were with the broth of the Braised Beef, but that was more my fault for not asking for the Braised Beef on the side.
Normally I wouldn’t leave a review for a beer as common as a Mango cart, but this beer had a rotting fruit taste/smell. I’m aware alcohol is fermented and so is the fruit but I’ve never experienced the rotting fruit smell/taste.
Service can be better, when I approached the the register the young man was talking friendly banter with a cook in the back paying no attention to the front. A young lady with her headphone in her ear stood by the food window, wasn’t sure if she was an expo or knew how to work the front but she just stared at us. He brought us our food and drinks and was nice during the whole...
Read moreIf you’re lucky enough to be within driving distance of the Anaheim Packing District make the trip. It’s a conglomeration of small eateries and cool little shops that are local owned and operated. We went here specifically to eat at The Kroft. I’ve been following their IG for years and finally made the journey. The kids were especially excited because our two kids really wanted to try poutine that’s all they’ve been talking about so when i suggested the kroft they were all on board.
Just a word of warning parking is challenging here. Most of it will be on street parking and you’ll get to walk up an appetite or walk off your meal.
We ordered the following: Son and daughter ordered: classic poutine fries Daughter 2: chicken sandwich Wife: tikka fries, mac n cheese(they were out of the flaming hot mnc sadly) brussle sprouts Me: i was wavering between the porchetta (best selling menu item btw) and the wagyu double smashed burger. I opted for the burger but want to try the porchetta next time.
Everything looked and tasted amazing. Love the sweet tang of the Brussels sprouts and my burger was amazing. Really liked their pickles they use as well.
Prices are reasonable to feed this party of 5 and that’s with drink orders. Highly recommend you try this place they’ve been around for years so they’re doing...
Read moreI've been meaning to try The Kroft for a minute now. However, my intention was to try the one at the District in Tustin but somehow the stars aligned and I came here instead to try the one in the Packing District. The line wasn't too bad and the service was pretty awesome, although seating is next to none here. The location is very very small.
I really didn't know what to order to I asked the cashier for her advice and she pretty much ordered for me. I had one of their poutine fries as well as one of their sandwich (I really couldn't remember what it was and should have kept the receipt to figure that portion out....my bad). Anyways, the fries were really delicious. They had great flavors and it was pretty well balance. The portions were huge so I had a rough time finishing this item. The sandwich was pretty good too, though not one of my favorites. I still wouldn't mind eating it again but it wasn't as good as I had anticipated though the portion too was extremely large.
Overall the food was stellar enough and the service was outstanding. I will definitely be returning to The Kroft in the near future as this place has won me over. I am very anxious to try other items...
