The ORIGINAL tastes pretty good. It tastes even better if you dip the chicken in the radish (side dish) liquid, then follow it with rice. Sadly, they do not have gravy for the chicken.
The chicken is a bit spicy, and the portions are really TINY. I will still choose Jollibee's "chickenjoy" over this one... today's curiosity got one over us, especially after learning that Tin-Tin Seafood restaurant is now permanently closed (see Yelp!). Tintin is just a few steps away from BBQ Chicken, so we decided to try it out instead of heading to Jollibee.
The first thing that will greet you at the door is this awful stench, enough to make you turn around and leave. But we soldiered on... give this restaurant a chance, ergo, the review above.
There is (spicy) mild savory flavor in the chicken for sure. But it will not satisfy, especially with the size of each piece collectively matching it with its price. I do encourage you to give it a go. Give it a try, then decide if the visit and the price are worth it for your taste and pocket.
I may POSSIBLY visit again... if Jollibee runs out of its chickenjoy and if there are no more dimsum restaurants in the shopping center. Perhaps if I crave for it, sure, why not.
The scent is offensively overpowering, though. If you can take it, then good for you. I hope the owner, management, and staff will take the time to get rid of the...
Read moreI can Not get enough of BBQ chicken. Every time I come here, I leave feeling satisfied.
The food is absolutely delicious: fresh made to order, piping hot, crispy on the outside juicy on the inside with the perfect amount of sauce for a great bite every time. Orders of chicken also come with a side of pickled radish that adds a sweet pallet cleanser in between the chicken. Don’t overlook the radish!!
Recommendations: the honey garlic is a staple— I get it every time. And if I go with someone else, we usually get two different ones and then split them. The galbi is also delicious. For a spicier flare, they offer a spicy galbi and the gangjeong offers a cinnamon kick alongside the soy sauce flavor.
The first time I went, I wanted to start simple and get the crispy original. It is well cooked but does not have the same level of flavor as the other offerings. I’d skip the crispy original and go straight for the flavors!!!
Note on Time: BBQ Chicken’s great quality comes from the fact that it is made fresh to order, and they are a popular joint. Fresh food takes time, so come earlier than you think to compensate. We waited maybe 15-20 minutes for the food on a Saturday night for an early dinner (about 18:00-18:30).
Absolutely worth the wait. Thank you to the friendly and hard working staff for the...
Read moreYesterday was my first time visiting BBQ, had been curious about their chicken and my husband and I decided to stop in as we weren't looking for a place to eat in we were looking for something just quick and ready to go. They had a large selection of chicken so definitely was impressed with that. My husband ordered the Spicy Galbi boneless chicken and I ordered Galbi boneless chicken. We both ordered the cheese-something fries with their secret sauce. I forgot to take pictures but the chicken was really good. We even drove home about 12-15 minutes and the food was still nice and hot had a nice crispy outside layer. The sauce for the spicy was great and the Galbi regular was wonderful. The chicken inside was nice and juicy not dried out the fries were nice and crispy and had this coating on it that was full of flavor. Now I rated a four stars because of the fact of the wait time we stood there for about 20 minutes before we got our food. That was the only downside. The food was amazing I will say it was definitely worth the wait. I will be returning to...
