Mariscos Los Chavalones Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Anaheim

This was my first time trying this resteraunt. My neighbor had reccomended it so I gave it a try. The food was actually really good but the service was lacking to say the least. I came in for a take out order and waited several minutes before even being acknowledged. One employee who was actually on break assisted me with my order. He turned in my order for me. He went to the back and I did not see him again. I waited almost 15 min. before I asked one of the waitresses about my order. Several people had ordered after me and was recieving their food already. I mentioned this to one of the girls working there and she pretty much rolled her eyes and said she would check on my order. She made me feel like I was bothering her when all I was doing was checking on the status of my order. After another few minutes, she finally brought me my order. It was missing the side I had ordered and again, she rolled her eyes and went to the back. She finally completed my order. In total I had been waiting almost 30 min. before I got my food. Not one apology for the wait, thank you for my patronage, or invitation to come back (which is the norm for good resteraunt and good customer service). I came to Los Chavalones Restaurant just to make time while my car was being fixed. I was thinking im not gonna like it. l will just tell you: " Dont Judge the Book by its Cover". I ordered a tostada mixta and the sea food was so fresh and tasty. Really, it was as it my taste buds had a blast inside of my mouth. I saw on another table clients of the restaurant eating a Molcajete , a special plate composed of either seafood or different types meats or seafood and meats in the same Molcajete (they calI it "Mar Y Tierra"). I didnt get to try it but according to the people eating it, the Molcajete Mar Y tierra was very delicious and encouraged me to try it next time. The place is clean and organized. The bathroom is also clean. The cherry on top of my visit, was the waitress ALMA, a young lady who provided me with a very excellent costumer service. She took the time to explain my options on the food listed on the menu. She made me feel comfortable asking any question about the food and my options. Definitely this place is a must...

I waited for food an hour and 10 mins for a party of 6, I am highly disappointed with this place. It was Mexican Mother’s Day so I expected busy I am not entitled. But there was only two waitresses and I’m guessing not enough cooks since the wait time was so long. I order three fried shrimp tacos and I expected them to be cold because of the vegetables but when I bit into it the tortilla was hard and very undercooked. I am very proudly Mexican and that really upset me since tortillas are a big part of tacos. I will never come back and will not be recommending this place. It made me really sad because the waitresses were not rude and the food isn’t bad but the service overall is horrible and unacceptable for a Mexican holiday since this is a “Mexican Establishment”.
