EXCELLENT 👍 EXCELLENT 👍 EXCELLENT 👍 My daughter and I recently moved to Yorba Linda. We were out running errands last week, hungry for Mexican food, decided to stop here. We used to live in Anaheim Hills years ago, when this was a different restaurant. We were very pleasantly surprised. We were seated, waiter came to our booth with a huge basket of thick freshly fried tortilla chips and fresh salsa. They had a special lunch menu, each combination was $11.99. I ordered a Cadillac marguerita which was very good, could actually taste the liquor in it. Not weak. We each ordered the combo of crispy string beef taco, chicken enchilada, which came with rice and beans. Within a short time, the waiter brought out two large platter style plates which were steaming hot. Crispy taco was large, alot of string beef. The enchilada has big chunks of chicken, cheese. Large portion of rice and beans too. Probably the best Mexican food and drinks I have had in a long time. It was outstanding and I cannot wait to go again. As I am writing this review, I will go there today. My daughter and I only spent $45.00 for a Cadillac marguerita, coke, chips, salsa, 2 large platters of food. It was so good, we ate everything. OUTSTANDING! KUDOS TO MANAGER AND CHEFS...
Read moreIt's been a long time since I've had good, traditional Mexican food, since moving away from having spent my entire life on the west coast up until about 7 years ago. So we decided to try Rodrigo's Mexican Grill, after seeing it more than 100 times getting off the 91 Fwy at Imperial Hwy. (it's just to the right of the offramp when exiting the 91 EB).
Service was great, people were warm, friendly and attentive. And the food was very good. Traditional dishes, like enchiladas with Mexican rice and refried beans and cheese. Great, fresh quality, with excellent, bold flavors. They even have traditional albondigas soup, which I've missed for decades (so hard to find places that serve it).
The chips/salsa were also very good. My personal preference are the very thin tortillas, served hot. These were not quite that, but were still good. And the salsa was fresh and tasty, with the right bite to it. Overall, the meal was very good. Not sure what it would've taken to get me to a full 5 stars on the food... it was all very good, but maybe if they had my favorite, oiled, super thin tortillas chips? :) But make no mistake about it, I'd definitely eat here again... just wish I'd gone in years ago after passing by...
Read moreOh boy oh boy. I don't think I have written a bad review yet. Let's start with the good: The location is very well kept and the ambiance is good. The service was on point with frequent visits and check ups. My orders came out with 100% accuracy. Now the bad: The food, the food, and the food again. Now granted I eat Mexican food a lot but this was not good at all. The chips and salsa are the typical table starters. The chips were ok but the salsa??? So bad. Imagine dipping your chips in V8 tomato juice. This salsa was worse than that. Then I got the entrees (nachos Grande and Chimichangas) and utter disappointment followed. I'm not sure if the restaurant intentionally does not use spices but the flavor is too bland. I did not order ant alcohol so maybe that may redeem the poor food. I would be hesitant to revisit but I gotta give it a second try to...
