The Ambiance was charming while the smells were salivating while waiting for our meals to go. The service was good; they were having a great time with one another as far as work commoradery in joy and laughter yet were not as guest oriented in anticipating a guests needs. We do not speak Arabic so we were having to ask a few more questions than usual, however they were happy to answer...especially the young lady. However they asked for our name as we were waiting for it to be called when the food was ready, yet they never called our name. We noticed some food waiting to be taken on the counter, and a gentleman with us who did speak Arabic asked if that was ours and they complied yes. A little hiccup during rush hour, however a little more guest centric and concern for the guest to enjoy their food as fresh and warm as possible always will typically give a better score on service to the employees from the guest(s). Nonetheless the food was AMAZING. I would absolutely want the Mediterranean and Eastern flavors on my dinner table any day of the week. They were utterly flavorful and I enjoyed every bite. The seasoning was perfection. I utilized the eastern style naan to absorb every oozing tastey morsel on my plate...my plate was literally spotless by the time I finished. We will absolutely be returning. Most importantly even though the service needs a bit more work I could feel and see the joy of the workers there...as a previous restaurant owner there is something about loving the cuisine you are serving and loving to eat and enjoy it too so when you do serve it it is a pure sense of pride, joy, and integrity that your whole body and attitude towards your guests and fellow employees that just exudes this emotion throughout the restaurant, and it is so utterly important as a guest to experience this when itis genuinely raw and cultivated at the same time. It is a beauty to see and experience always when found, and here in this restaurant, I feel we did...
Read moreI love this place. Had both takeouts and dine-ins here.
SHEESH TAWOOK - I personally think their Chicken Wrap here is better than Zankou's. MUCH more juicy, and it doesn't hide behind the garlic sauce. Although you can taste it, everything just complements well. I also LOVE the pickles that are in this wrap. I literally devour this each time I get it. :D
ZAIT & ZAATAR WRAP - Since it's their namesake, I tried this too. It's folded Saj bread with this seasoning mix spread all over it. Very interesting taste that I can't describe but tastes "herb-y." It was just OK for me since there are other things to try :)
PASTRIES - There's a row of pastries when you order, so it's easy to just get distracted and be like "Oh I'll have 3 of these, maybe 1 of that, and ... 2 of that"
I've tried Cheese, Cheese & Zataar, and Spinach/Cheese. I like all 3 but the winner is Spinach/Cheese. There are some spicy ones too but I probably can't handle those.
BEEF SHAWERMA PLATE - I was only OK on this. The beef was a little dry but the presentation was fantastic. I'd probably stick with the Sheesh Tawook Plate if you're not feeling a wrap.
NUTELLA WRAP / ADD STRAWBERRIES - Ok you can't go wrong with Nutella. And strawberries. It's not technically a crepe but they spread the Nutella generously on their Saj bread. IT'S GOOD, JUST GET IT.
Also, this place is in the BACK of the plaza where Starbucks is.
Just really good food. Extensive menu. And lots of authentic locals....
Read moreFood is decent - not authentic Lebanese if that's what you are looking for. They have a weird spicy mayonnaise/ketchup sauce they put on a lot of their dishes - asked for it on the side and they drenched the sauce on the bowl anyway. Their bakery items are actually flat bread pizzas - a good to know before hand as it isn't clearly labeled. I made the mistake of trying the restaunt out a week after Ramadan ended and they were out of a lot of the staple dishes like the stuffed grape leaves, kibbeh, shawarma, house specials etc. I ordered a lot to take home for later and they served me only part of my order and had to go back twice to get the remaining items. The garlic spread, hummus and pickled turnips are very good. The fatoush wasn't authentic and mostly lettuce. A poor choice for beverages. The organization is chaotic and there is a lack of communication between the staff. For items that they didn't have they charged me for and just didn't provide. I had to go back and ask for a refund and they still short changed me. One of the cooks came in from outside and was seen to be pulling up his pants and zipping up the front zipper. Didn't inspire a lot of confidence for food safety and cleanliness. A bit on the expensive side for...
